Hey everyone!

As the title says I'm trying to play offline via GOG... On vacation right now, and we're having a peaceful slow day. :)

Playing works fine, and I have no trouble loading my last save. Then when I save the game says it's saving... and it stays that way. Opening the save or load menu again leaves me with an empty list and the indicator to wait until it's done doing... something? I suppose it might be something about syncing with the GOG cloud - which of course should cause a timeout after some waiting.

Does anyone know a way to fix this, switch to some offline mode, deactivate clound synchronization while I'm on vacation?

Thanks a lot everyone!

I am experiencing the same problem. Sad. :(
GOG is supposed to support offline gaming, because the game licenses they sell supposedly don't have DRM..

Works fine here. I've never had a problem with playing any GoG game offline. And that's the only way I play my games. I don't even have GoG Galaxy installed (because I don't like having my telemetry data collected).

In the case of CP77, just make sure HDD mode is set to off and cloud saving is turned off in the settings.

Easy.
I don't play games over the internet at all and block network connections for most of my software including this game and still it saves instantly. Games on a mechanical spinning HDD too.

Check under Settings: Gameplay: Miscellaneous: "Enable cross-platform Saves". My guess is that that toggle determines if it tries to upload saves or not. Setting "Enable Analytics" while you know you don't have an internet connection could only help too. But I'd be surprised and disappointed if either of these settings slow anything down if you don't have a connection. They should both save anything they need locally and upload them independently of the game as separate processes or threads.

I'd be wary of your hard drive starting to have problems. Check around for some of the many ways of checking that - and if you have anything important there, copy it to another disk before doing anything even as simple as letting Windows check the disk for errors. I've learned that lesson the hard way multiple times over the years.

PS: I think the "HDD Mode" is more about tell the game how fast your hard drive is. I think it's intended to be HDD vs SSD for mechanical spinning discs vs sold state flash memory.

Good luck! If you learn anything, let us know!
