I found a video that shows the comparison between Day 1 graphics and Ray Tracing Overdrive (I'm not affiliated with the channel).

It's...different. I don't think it's necessarily improved. There are some spots where the lighting is better, but honestly I can live without it. Especially considering the price of the GPU I would need to actually play at decent framerates with overdrive on.
