Im sorry if I made a double post but found only one thread about this which I could not open.

I bought a new notebook and installed Windows 10 and since old games - worked well on Win7 - wont start.

Games like Lands of Lore, Lords of Magic or Disciples 2 throwing various error messages or just simply stop working.

When I've searched in google first found this article -> News: We are ready for Windows 10 - GOG.com

Is it me or they are really not ready for Windows 10?
And as I see there is not much fuss about it in the forums which makes me wonder if I do something wrong.

I assume you mean LoL3, as the first two are dosbox and thus shouldn't have compatibility issues (as long as GOG has updated them to the latest dosbox version).

You might want to provide some information about the problem, such as what error messages, what happens, how you install a game, where you install a game etc. Just stating everything doesn't work is not very likely to get a useful answer.

To start with, are you manually installing files you downloaded or are you using Galaxy? I can't answer on galaxy issue.
Second, are you installing the games outside windows folders, i.e. to c:\games or something like that. Always install any software outside windows folders!
Thirdly ensure you have the relevant drivers installed, be that hardware drivers or other software such as DirectX, C++ addins etc.
Finally, if you have specific problem games, Google the error/or the game with some question, check out the sub forum for that game to see if there is any solution, and if none of that works, contact GOG support page.

From my experience I have not had a single game not work on Windows 10, its likely your missing something.

I've had a few, but I was eventually able to get a workaround or just gave up. The compatibilty issues are not nearly as bad as most feared they would be, or as many tried to say they would be without knowing.

Did you update your graphic card drivers yet?

Have you tried Disciples 1 on Win10? On Win7 that game would crash after about half an hour of play unless you put it in compatibility mode for Win95.

I'll try the advices accordingly.

Because of all the software/hardware combinations out there, GOG can't guarantee all games will work "out of the box" on all PCs. I'd ask and search the respective game forums for help, and contact GOG Support if need be.

I have had a very good success rate at getting old games to run on win 10, even on a real cheap small laptop that I bought for when I travel.

Usually googling the problem helps quite fast... Although sometimes there are different answers based on person's different setup, I guess.

You need to be introduced to the wonderful world of the Vogons forums where all things old and PC become shiny happy things. Also, as you will find, the dgVoodoo2 utility will become your eternal BFF when trying to run some of these games in Windows 10. The dev behind dgVoodoo hangs out at Vogons as well and talks directly to the user base to work out bugs. There are a few games out there that just completely hate 10 such as the the classic game Future Cop LAPD from EA, but most you can get working. This is why I probably will have a trusty Windows 7 gaming laptop sitting around long after Microsoft stops throwing updates at it which I think ends in 2020. I even got Heuristic Park's Wizards & Warriors working perfectly with some finagling with dgVoodoo2 and let me tell you that game is no easy task getting to work in Windows 7.

Don't buy old games from GoG; half of them are utterly broken. At least get them from steam where you can get a refund.

I've had very good experiences with retrogaming and Windows 10. Even with my new PC and the recent components within.

And for really old games there are tons of emulators to run them (for DOS and Windows as well). So your issues are likely elsewhere.

And how long is Steams refund policy, would it happen to be 30 days, just like GoG's ?.
