so the same day I asked for a refund - its been a week and still no refund

is it possible they are just delaying me past the 30 days "guarantee" refund time limit?

No. You've submitted a request and presumably have a ticket number. Provided you raised this within the 30 days and there is no evidence of abuse of the refund system, you will get a refund in the end.

Your refund can take up to a month to process if you requested a refund in cash rather than store credit, depending on the method you used to pay for the game.

So you already purchased the same game and presumably refunded it previously?

That might be an issue.

I purchased it 3 years ago when it was in early access - it was crashing a lot I assumed it was because it was beta so I refunded and waited for the full game.
I tried it again now and having the same problems I was having back then, so I refunded again.

also my method of payments is paypal - if it changes anything...

It does. GoG wait for the money to clear into their account before triggering any cash refund to you.

Unless you really need cash back, I'd usually recommend accepting store credit, especially if there are other games you're thinking of buying on GoG - it gets processed much faster.

No. You need to put in the request for a refund within 30 days. How long GOG takes to process the request is irrelevant.

Sounds like similar stupidity with No Man's Sky. Someone demanding a refund because the game wasn't working, so they planned to re-purchase it the next week. My advice was to just wait and not waste everyone's time.

If the price was the same in early access vs now, i don't see why you'd go for a refund if you planned to repurchase it later, unless you're REALLY hurting on funds (to which you shouldn't be buying games, but whatever). Digital goods aren't like a physical products, so getting a refund to get an 'updated version later' doesn't make a difference.

I personally bought a nice big TV from Walmart; I then returned it and got the same model TV from Walmart (done as a swap). Why? The TV didn't have a VGA port that i wanted so i could use it as a monitor, but the same model same manufacturer and same TV same price side by side DID have a VGA port (which is what i wanted in the first place), so the swap was easy and fast. But that's physical goods.
