this guy had cigar explode in his face... as for me, i once had problem with an e-cigar battery (1) which overheats and discharge electric power even when i wasn't using it, but i had no idea i was at risk to get bombed too! now i have 3 working batteries

i didn't like the shiny one because often it says "atomizer low" idk why. i don't want to get bombed by terrorists but i really need to smoke! so what do i do now

Old news, reports of this kind have been around for years. There have also already been some studies, in Poland some organisation (don't remember which exactly) studying causes of fires concluded that the vast majority of exploding batteries are caused by overcharging, modding and using chargers not specifically meant for electric cigarettes and also stated that in their experience the risks are almost non-existent with responsible use. Most importantly you should avoid overcharging and it's a huge no-no to charge via the USB port of a PC or something. And surprise, the report you linked to also mentioned that the guy modded his battery.

They also observed that even though no legal standards have been established yet for the manufacturers to minimise risks and dangers of exploding batteries, the batteries have been designed in a comparably safe manner all along, with most of the energy being discharged away from the user (and I'm not sure a single case of an e-cigarette exploding in someone's face has been lethal - there have been some deaths due to fires caused by them, though). Also most news reports about exploding cigarettes I've read usually mentioned that chargers meant for other devices were the cause. The sole fact that you are still allowed to take electric cigarettes on air planes while many airlines banned the Note 7 should be comforting.

I was a heavy smoker for fifteen years, and I was so addicted, I even smoked during chemo.

HOWEVER I am also a very weak person with little to no willpower, and yet I quit, cold turkey.

My point? Fuck em. If they can't break the habit then they deserve whatever is coming to them.

I hate the whole electronic cigarettes thing. I don't mind people smoking, even though I don't smoke and never have, but if you want to smoke, at least smoke the real things and look normal, not like a moron unseccesfully trying to play a miniature flute.

And yes, I know this is entirely irrational on my part, but everyone is allowed their pet peeves.

See i might just be behind the times, but if im gonna get cancer again id like it to be one that is known and stuff, smoking causes cancer, yup. There is strong evidence that ecigs cause it too, question is, is it the same kinda of cancer already known or is it going to be something new that no-one knows how best to treat?

When I quit i will quit until then I will not substitute smoking for pretend smoking
