Hello!

Would like to add all my games to steam, via the "non-steam game) link, but unfortunately, progress is not recorded on Galaxy if it's not run from it. Time played, achievements, etc.

How can I do this?

Thanks!
I don't think it is possible. I mean Galaxy is a seperate client, it is not being intended to work together with Steam like that ;-)
I doubt there is even a way that doesn't involve heavily "fiddling" with either client, maybe both.

Also, GoG and Steam are competitors, so I highly doubt they'd even consider / desire making their clients work along each other...

Maybe a weird question, and not meant as an insult, but why would you want to add DRM (aka Steamworks) to your DRM-Free games in the first places... just seems rather non-sensical.

Edit: Unless you meant for MP, maybe? (didn't think of it at first).

I get it, but until I can transfer my 400 games to GoG, or have GoG prices on Steam, I'll have to use two clients, which is annoying.

Oh wait, 4 clients, forgot about Origin and uPlay.

Sigh, why can't we all get along and have one platform?

Actually, one platform for all would probably be the worst thing ever... because of their monopoly, they could ask ridiculous prices and offer shitty service and worse DRM then ever before, and only options would be to either
a) suck it up or b) get a new hobby...

Monopolies are never good for the customer...

Edit: As for having all games on GoG, it's more often the devs / publishers, and sometimes even GoG themselves who don't want it to happen...

Or no clients at all? Hence, DRM-free installers. :)

Your wish about having only one client/platform for PC gaming may become true though, if MS had its way. It is not called Steam (nor Galaxy) though, but Windows Store. Hope you'll like it, but then it doesn't matter whether you do if you have no options. Similarly like on Apple iOS devices there is only one store to get your Apple applications from, AppStore. No Steam, no Galaxy, no Origin, no uPlay, not even client-free installers.

The downside for having only one platform of course is that then there will be less competition between services, which also means higher prices.

There is one thing GOG could implement that would help here: Add to Galaxy a command line argument that causes Galaxy to start up and immediately start the game specified on the command line. Then, the entire command line could be given to Steam when creating the non-Steam shortcut.

This would also allow desktop shortcuts to automatically start GOG, and (once Galaxy gets a Linux port) allow games to easily be started through Galaxy from the Linux shell.

Because you can't have people drive on the left and right in the same direction at the same time.
There was a similar thread a couple of weeks ago, with the Sam question. If I remember correctly there where some sort of solution or workaround proposed there, but I can't find the thread again.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for
So... if there a way to do it?
