We got all of the other Agarest War games, any chances that we'll get this one here?
Idea Factory does not publish here directly i'm afraid. The other Agarest games were published here by Ghostlight.

That is also the reason why we only have the 3 Neptunia Rebirth games here and nothing else. (Those were published here by Retroism).

Different licensing deals and all that. It's unfortunate but it is what it is.

Yeah, Japanese companies (unsurprisingly) generally don't know about GOG and unless they have a competent Western publisher, they will only go for Steam.
They would probably also be more open to publish DRM-free, considering Japan has DRM-free stores (although it's mostly doujin stuff).

Quite right but that is not a general rule. Xseed is quite a competent western publisher and Falcom is all too happy to let them put their games here but Tamsoft on the other hand (Senran Kagura etc.) seems to be kinda allergic to DRM-free as Xseed's attempts to bring the first 2 pc ports of SK series (at the time) here, failed. They cited technical difficulties in "detaching the DRM component" of Shinovi VS in particular but was that the case for every other Tamsoft game that Xseed has localised?
I do not think so.

Hm, seems definitely like a problem with them, considering Compile Heart and Idea Factory (until Idea Factory International) apparently didn't care much about the publishing parts.
(Also, apparently Compile Heart released a Megazone 23 game on the Playstation 3. Pretty cool.)

Ya, I sort of deducted this a while back.

1/3 of my games on GOG and old titles, 1/3 are from Falcom and the rest are newer indies. On Steam, it's mostly Japanese games from Square-Enix, SEGA, Capcom, Marvelous, Namco-Bandai, etc..

Well, not offering any Japanese language support doesn't help in that regard, especially with them focusing more on PC these "days". I was pretty surprised when Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen hit the store.

If Sega would start releasing their stuff here, I would definitely become poor. But hey, they not only use Steam as DRM but also Denuvo, the worst.

No kidding, you should see the shit show that happen by just posting a video on the Steam Forums and how defensive some people are of DRM:

To that I say "Dance puppets, dance!!"

Good old Jim. I watched him for a while but it was kinda pointless for me as I don't buy any bad practice or DRM stuff in the first place. I applaud him for beating the horse over and over again as the publishers keep pushing and pushing on the other side. And yeah, that's not a thread I would want to read, haha. Hit the lever...like an anime fan on prom night.
Hopefully Retroism can bring this game over to GOG too. A shame that another series might go from being "complete" to broken up on GOG.

If Steam's war on anime games continues then we might see it here after all.
Agarest Mariage is now on Steam, but not GOG. They are doing a livestream in about 20 minutes, maybe someone should ask about a GOG release there. Other than that, keep voting.

I asked about a GOG release on the stream, they said it's "completely on Steam." Time to keep voting.

Don't bother.

Idea Factory can't even keep their own leading IP updated with DLC on GOG. They'll probably not bother with Agarest, a game series that I remember is poorly rated here.
