I never actually bought anything on Steam ever but I did buy some games on disc that require Steam forcing me to get an account.

Pretty much here. I broke down and joined because there are handful of games only available that I just need to play! :P I rarely if ever use it, and it really, I MEAN REALLY REALLY, has to be super duper over the moon fan-fucking-tastic for me to go to Steam to play it. XD See: Bioshock and Portal.

It is a notable game, I like it a lot. I have regular and special editions for xbox 360 as well as humble+steam, and if there's a good sale I'll get it here too to be safe because it doesn't look likely that its ever coming back. So yeah, I think so.

I hope so. Alan Wake is a fantastic game. If they have a sale to match Steam on it tomorrow then i'll get iot here as well.

Yes. The digital versions of the Alan Wake games will no longer be for sale on Steam, GOG or anywhere else on the Internet because of legal issues with some of the music.(Except for used copies on disc).
If you already bought it from GOG, it will remain in your library.
