Hi, for a week or so I've been getting a gog newsletter every 5-6 hours in my inbox - I've only got the promotions one checked. So why am I getting weird ones that are recommending random games I already own or aren't on sale?

I attached the one I just got. For example in this one

1) I don't have Drakkhen but it isn't on sale

2) I own Ultima VIII + D&D Archives Collection + Vampire Masquerade + Betrayal from Kronder

3) Only one I don't own and is on sale is River City Girls, which I'm not really interested in right now

I only really want to get notified of sales and giveaways. Again I'm getting these every 5-6 hours in my inbox for some reason now which is really annoying.

I tried to file a support request but GOG's new bot is broken :(.

EDIT: Imgur link as attach didnt work:

Because you claimed a free game recently that was offered via a promotion here on GOG. Which (if you read the not so small print), will sign you up the the regular newsletter. And also states that you are free to change your settings back to not receiving them, if you so wish...

I don't know what you mean by that. The first thing you should tell the chatbot is "other" then when it asks what type of problem you have, you click "Other" from the choices. That skips to opening a support ticket. If all else fails, try sending an e-mail to support (at) gog (dot) com

Size limit is <500 KB per image and <2 MB in total per post. Anything larger than that gets silently stripped out when posting.

As for the e-mails, I got one with the subject line Special selection of CLASSIC GAMES for (my e-mail address). This one had 2 games I already own. The rest I don't care about. Less than two hours later, I got another with the subject line Check out the games you might like. This had 1 game I already own. Again, the rest I don't care about.
Like all forms of GOG recommendations ("Games for you" on the homepage, Discover section in GOG Galaxy, etc.), they completely miss the mark for me. I do appreciate the addition of prices right in the e-mails though. I'd like to see that going forward.
CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE SELECTED TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEWSLETTERS BY CHOOSING TO CLAIM A GIVEAWAY. WITH THIS OPPORTUNITY COMES THE FINEST VIEWS INTO THE STRANGE ALIEN WORLD THAT IS MARKETING.

Yeah, it's basically that.
I get those too (once a week). I don't care about GOG newsletters, I would subscribe even without the giveaways. These stand out though, because unlike others, they have prices in dollars instead of my local currency.

Yeah that's what I did, before I only got notifications of giveaways and specials once every few days. Thanks though :).

Right, exactly. I didn't start getting these until a week or two ago. I've switched it to announcements only as hinted above - hopefully will stop the new spam. Thanks

Yeah the problem is that the chatbot is locked from the previous ticket I filed and there is no way to clear it. Or it is bugged I guess *shrug*

Thanks I meant to mark yours as answer but either works :)
