So tomorrow (August the 25th) marks the 10 year anniversary of one of, if not THE best comic book video games/series Arkham Asylum! I decided I'd play the whole series from start to finish in chronological order, already up to Arkham Knight and I'm having a blast. The combat initially seemed very shallow... but as the game and series progressed layers were added to it and new opportunities for combos and awesome moves opened up. Apparently they based the combat around rhythm games like Guitar Hero. That wasn't apparent to me at the time as I've never played a game like that, but I grew to love the system.
It was a shame that Knight had such a rocky launch. The story is great (the whole series really) and I honestly loved the Batmobile. Understand why it was a turn off to some though as the series up to that point hadn't involved vehicular use. Graphics are still jaw-dropping. I remember starting the game, then realizing I was in control thinking I was still watching a CGI intro. I'm eager to see what Rocksteady does next... though I know I'm going to need a new computer to run it.
