It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Some people who have already received the update report several bugs with it. The two worst seem to be:

*) Huge CPU consumption in combination with older Intel drivers on some CPUs. Update you Intel drivers before installing the Windows update.

*) An OneDrive sync error that can wipe all your personal data. The logic is probably: "If a file isn't on your OneDrive account it's not supposed to be there.". The problem is that this logic seems to be applied also to folders that aren't connected to OneDrive at all. So make sure you backup the Documents folder of all users before the update hits your PC:

Alternatively (if your version of Windows 10 allows that) you can delay that update and give Microsoft some time to fix it.

Doing nothing is not recommended since the update has already started distributing.

I updated and it works fine.

So far as the CPU consumption, that's a reporting bug, the actual consumption is much lower.

Windows is the best offline OS that money can buy.

yes but whats your point?

I use | sell | repair Windows... what I don't do is allow MS to run their updates unless it adds something tested and useful

Well, the Ray Tracing support got added in this patch. Although I imagine you wouldn't much care unless you got one of the new RTX cards.

Still, if you want an utterly nightmarish update experience, try a Mac. :'-(

I disabled automatic updates and the bitch launched Edge to turn it back on. I disabled Edge and one of my games was borked. That's my point.

I'd kill it if it was within my power to do so.
Laughs in Linux.

Okay, so I've never backed up my files before and reads thread…since I didn't use OneDrive, I doubt it would have tried to do that dumb thing.

I know the Mac ... added exGpu (which only works on about 3 cards so far) and can name tags but they dropped OpenGL for Metal which buggers a lot of Adobe users & more than 1/2 the games

Windows updates can be locked out at least... my two home systems are still version 1709 (build 16299) which runs all my Gog | steam games just fine so I'll hold off on this update until next year :)
Update: Because of the problems mentioned above Microsoft has retracted the update until they have a fixed version available.

Vulkan also got raytracing support from NVIDIA, so it's pretty much on Linux by default.
