I imagine it will just be people who dislike the fact the thread has nothing to do with the title you gave it (I've seen similar threads get downvoted in the past) or fans / enemies of tinyE who didn't actually pay any attention beyond down voting because of the title...

I've had this happen to a topic I made about game difficulty; the sort of topic that actually got some good discussion.

In other words, that was a topic that:
1. Was a serious topic (not even a joke topic like this one)
2. Was not about any issue that would be controversial (in other words, not about anything that might be considered political), and
3. Was about video games, and was therefore extremely relevant to the site

...and yet it was downrated anyway.

Therefore, I can conclude that some people just downrate topics by certain people without actually looking at them.

(Also, I wish the forum software would be updated to remove this misfeature.)

Unfortunately the forum has gone rapidly down hill in the last 6 months or so and most threads just seem to devolve into a battleground between a number of different sub groups..
I usually up vote any downrated posts that don't have any obvious reason to be downvoted.. but the system definitely needs removed or replaced.
