I dog believe you.
What a catty thing to say; why waste time making meaningless statements when they could instead just deliver?

NuffCatnip: Most of those that made Bioware what it was left the company...
Most of these companies have either lost the people who pushed gaming forward due to time, age, or a disinterest in the direction of gaming... or actively pushed them out.

Personally -- due to a number of issues -- I don't see Bioware rebounding. But, like has become the norm... they will talk, and talk, and talk (promises) as they get lowered into their own grave. The "remember when" feels have long since run out for Bioware.

"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."
Albert Einstein
EA CEO Andrew Wilson for me is the perfect example of what Frank Zappa meant when he said it was the young and hip execs that ruined the music business because they claimed to "know what the kids want" and "how they think".

Dude has literally been quoted as saying all games should have the same list of features as FIFA. All games need multiplayer, pay2win microtransactions, loot boxes, stuff like that.

That's the logic behind a game like Anthem.

You and I, as mere consumers who actually like to play games, might look at Anthem and wonder why it even exists. Who ever asked for that? Well, Andrew Wilson did.

Breja: https://cul-chicago.org/biowares-new-general-manager-promises-to-rebuild-its-reputation/

I usually don't pay much attention to AAA industry news these days, let alone make threads about it, but something about BioWare's complete and utter fall into disrepute amuses me endlessly. I'm not sure why. It's just some sort of morbid, dark humor. Although I guess BioWare is not the only one. Blizzard is in that same category, probably others too. Studios that don't really have anything in common with their legendary past but keep promising the moon. It's over. It's dead. Stop wearing a suit made out of its carcass, for pity's sake!
This time, of course, everyone will believe it at once :D

make games , we will look at them if we see they are good we buy em
Wow, I actually agree with you.

I don't really care about the politics or internal drama in game studios much. Off the top of my head, I can't even name any, past or present, Bioware or Blizzard employees or bosses, or understand their significance, or lack there-of, to the company. Oh no, Matt Coulthard Jr. left KickingAss Studios?!? What now happens to their future games like Ikkupikku WTF, the new platformer game that was supposed to come out?

Maybe i care a bit for what is happening in CDPR because that might affect to the existence of GOG.com, but I can't really name any CDPR employees either... I think I've seen the photo of their boss, and he is probably called something like Man...chieviczky? Or something close to that.

If the game is good, nice. If the game is not good, not nice. Fortunately there is an abundance of good games.

Agreed. They need to produce far more than words at this point, to get my attention.
Meh, I don't think about Bioware as disreputable or something. In fact, these days I don't think about them at all. They haven't made a game I would be interested in since DAO.

low rated
We'll see, personally i had a lot of fun with both Anthem and Andromeda. Dragon Age inquisition is by many still regarded their last masterpiece and with part IV arriving soon i don't think the public will hold any grudge outside some people who secretly have more trouble with accepting their own sexuality or skin color then they actually have with a certain developer

No, that was Mike Laidlaw.

I honestly would like to believe it would be possible for some semblance of the old Bioware to return, but like you say: it's dead. It is no more. It's fucking snuffed it. I don't think anyone at EA or the current Bioware even understands what the old Bioware even was or what made their games great (subjective, I know).

Worse then that - I'm pretty sure even if they did understand, they'd stay away from it on purpose, because it's completely contrary to the way EA does things.
I believe Bioware (whatever that is) *can* still make "good" games, despite EA (argument: Fallen Order). However, if you don't like modern games, like e.g. Fallen Order, and you want/expect them to make games like 15+ years ago: not likely going to happen.
In case my point isn't clear: Indeed, I dislike many recent(ish) EA games, but I don't think a game is necessarily "bad", just because EA published it. (though it often is...IMO!)
Some people here say that DA:O was their last good game. Me, I really liked all 3 Mass Effect Games. Opinions are like assholes...

I don't care for their games nowadays and from what i have seen from post era 2010 ( around the time i got fed up with DRM and stopped buying their games) and onwards including the games i have tried afterwards through friends i'm not impressed and the bad business practices don't really bother me either since i do not impulse buy.

My main issue with Bioware is: Does the promise to rebuild reputation include getting rid of drm ?.
