Chacranajxy: Nah, Sega's more progressive than you think... and they're changing a lot in how they do business these days. I don't think it's out of the question.

ReynardFox: I'm, not seeing any business changes within Sega, or at least nothing that isn't a typical Sega cycle of "we're gonna be better" followed by them not actually learning anything.

I would love to be proven wrong, but I've been there since Sega began and I don't hold out any hope of seeing them here unless GOG magically gets marketshare and/or public awareness equal to Steam.
I can't go into too much detail, but I know Sega very well. Despite being a Japanese company, most of the decision making takes place in the US, and they really have taken a turn towards being more of a customer-friendly company in recent years. I can't speak to their specific stance on DRM, but they're not the cold, unfeeling corporation that some assume them to be.

I mean, shit, the fact that they commissioned a Bayonetta port in the first place should be proof of that.
WOW! Re-seeing this thread I assumed it was necro-ed by somebody, but it turns out Sega actually released a port of Bayonetta. Yes, it's on STEAM, but still it's a great port of a superb game.

Too bad there's no chance of the the sequel seeing such a treatment, at least not until Nintendo dies. :(

I don't think of Sega as of the cold, corporation mold, more that they're a company run by complete incompetents, notorious for lack of internal communication, near-constant boneheaded business decisions and general obliviousness to the industry around them. Sega just sits on a million potential good ideas and franchises and does nothing, content to receive praise for porting and publishing games they didn't make and to just keep whoring Sonic out... and they can't even get that right as they keep trying to reinvent the wheel every time they make something work.

I see a Bayonetta PC port as just the reaction of a floundering company trying to make a few bucks on a property they previously neglected once they saw it do well out of their hands.

Edit: and if I'm proven wrong and Bayonetta miraculously ends up here, there will be giveaways.
