sunshinecorp: I totally agree that the Diablo and Torchlight series are among the most boringester boringfests of boredom that I've ever tried to play.
Honestly, can you name a singe true dungeon crawler (and I'm not talking about TES and the like, those are a lot of RPG) that don't get boring at some point?

I think Diablo 2 is the greatest game ever but even I admit at some point it becomes a tad monotonous.

No, you're right I can't. Sometimes I wonder why I keep trying to play them.

Because you are a gamer and like the rest of us you have been condemned to it! :P

It's hard work, being a gamer... and not always pleasant.
My favorites are NOX and Dungeon Siege.
Please post this in the "Server Problem" thread after the people that regret Steam :P

Tallima: Also, give Path of Exile a try. I didn't get too far in it, but it was really good.
Do you know if it has DRM?
Can it be played without passing from Steam?
I wish it were offline though :\

I had it outside of Steam, so it should be possible (been a year or so since I played, so memory's a little fuzzy).

It is online only. It's a good team-up and fight together game.

You have my permission to use it at your wish. :)
I don't know if anyone's mentioned Titan Quest yet. Sadly not on gog yet but it is available on . I think it's great fun for anyone fan of the genre that also likes the ancient greece theme. That's what made the game awesome for me in the beginning. I loved creating a badass hoplite like character like in the [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ere6idDMpc]intro. Unfortunately that caused me to become irritated when I found an egyptian themed helmet that was way better than my greek themed one :P
Torchlight is great! I didn't like Torchlight 2 as much, but it was still fun.

Probably my favourite recent dungeon hack n slash is Victor Vran. Highly recommended.

Crackpot.756: Either way, Torchlight is still fun - for a while. My mind just can't deal with the repetition and overabundance of loot, but I think that's a thing in dungeon crawlers.
Not in Torchlight, but this is the reason i can't really enjoy Borderlands. I spend most of the time looking the inventory and comparing the billion slightly different weapons than playing.

Path of Exile is very good, i have played it for hundreds hours. And it's really free, you don't have to spend any money other than cosmetic things. The skill "tree" is huge and very customizable. The game is well supported by the devs. It runs in most computers. Very recommended.

Adding my vote for Lionheart.

I also have a soft spot for Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor. Especially when soloing, as opposed to fielding a full party of four to six.

I got $50 to spend in it as a gift from a friend (he got it as a bonus for upgrading his GPU). I put all the money into increased storage, but I never really needed it. I may have to find my way back into that game. It was a good time. And that leveling web is spectacular.

Another recommendation: Sacred 3. It's a totally different game than the others, but it's not horrible. There's plenty of better out there, but it's a fun time-waster.

I also have spent like 10 euro for increased storage, not because i needed but to support a game i have played for a very long time :)
Has anyone mentioned FATE?

Okay so it will probably never go down on anyone's best of list but it's not a bad little time killer, and even the monsters are cute. :D
