I dont think planets edge or xcom are the same
Xcom is a strategy game while Planets edge is more of a RPG/Adventure game

Open X-COM, the original game has never been surpassed by anything other than the fan made enhancements to it.

X-Com is one of those games that practically killed the genre it itself started because it's too good.

Yeah, but it also had a long list of various bugs and glithes, poor AI and broken balance.


Open XCOM is pretty much THE way to play the game nowadays, as it fixes all issues, adds quality of life and adds mod support.
