My download speed is 160 down and 25 up. i am downloading witcher 3 with the GOG downloader but my speed is all over the place... it goes up to 20MB/s then down to 1MB/s, i cant get it to stabilize at all, now it wont go over 3 MB/s. I never used gog before is this normal?

Even when my home network is being and SOB, I can still clear a gig inside 40min. Did you check to see if it's cleared any firewall or blocking from windows?

gog downloader didnt show up in my firewall, so i manually added it but it still didn't do anything.

I know I'm out of my element for the most part here. Best I can say is when I do watch download speed, it will fluctuate wildly from moment to moment. Depending on their system, I doubt you'll get your full download speed from it. I can't guarantee, but I think it's also using a torrent style download and will vary depending on who all is online with the game files too.

I gave up on the downloader. I go with a download manager using my browser. It's great.

i tried downloading through the browser i was getting 300KB/s max

That is really weird.

I know shit about computers but I too am starting to wonder if it's something else. Locations, AV, aliens? :P I live in the middle of nowhere on a satellite connection and I am doing better than 300Kb.

i honestly don't know whats going on either, i just tried steam and im getting a solid 19MB/s.....

meaning that the issue lies elsewhere and GOG downloader is far better for you for, again, unkown reason (it did extremely bad for me)

yea i am not sure whats going on. Witcher 3 just finished downloading finally.

am i suppose to delete the files the downloader downloaded after the games finish installing, because i have 2 folders with witcher 3 files inside with 35gb each

My peak is 92 (it should be 100 on paper), Witcher 3 via Galaxy downloads with 11Mb/s (fine for me).
Since your bandwitch is awesomly fast, maybe it's because of the GOG servers location?

3mbps download speed? Well shit, I barely get half of that if I'm lucky. Be grateful.
