In summation: Canadian tech retail store (NCIX) that went belly up had **all data** (17 years worth) sold to 5 unknown entities. (Company not to blame, creditors and asset liquidators are, as I understand.)
This includes passwords and CC info.

No. (Has this ever stopped liquidators and creditors?) There's is of course, a privacy website in the Canadian gov you can contact.
