It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I've been away for, I dunno, ten months or so, but really wanted to download one of the games from my library today - only I had to discover that there's seemingly no way of downloading them without installing GOG Galaxy anymore?

The "Games" tab in my profile just shows me a list of all my games; clicking on a game in the list takes me to a page displaying the thumbnail and the title of the game and a slot for stats. The thumbnail and name of the game aren't clickable and there are no buttons or other links to click for a download.

Clicking on the "Games" link in the dropdown menu under my name in the navigation bar at the top only takes me back to the GOG front page.

Also, my profile says I'm offline.

Any ideas what's going on, and better yet, how to fix it?

Sure.

Download the offline backup installers and take two aspirin. If your game isn't installed then, see me in the morning for remedial classes on how to operate a computer.

Somethings not right, you might want to clear your browser's cache/cookies. Maybe log off/on.

Attached a pic of what you should see. The offline download link is below the BIG blue button.

Yeah, that is absolutely not what I was seeing.

Cleared the cache now, which had the side-effect of logging me out; then I logged back in - and now it works. Thanks for the tip!

(Still don't understand why something in the cache would mess up site functionality so severely in the first place, but that's probably because I'm too stupid to operate a computer ;-))

Do yourself a favour and set Firefox (I don't think chrome has this) to remove history and cookies and whatnot at end of session. You can add exclusions, e.g so you don't have to log in each time if need be, but the cookies, cache, and history is always the main cause of browser issues.
The remake of this website messed things up, hence the need for clearing the cache.

Will do, thanks! Weirdly, this is the first time in years of usage that I've run into this problem here, or anywhere really, so I really wasn't aware that the cache could be such a problem.
I think your problem is you actually went to your 'Profile' and not your 'Library'.
Your profile is a public (if you allow it) page showing which games you own along with stats about them (how long you've played, achievements etc.) though only if you use Galaxy to track them.

GOG changed the behaviour of clicking on your account name in the menu bar from taking you to your library to taking you to your profile.
Instead you should hover over the menu and select the Games option.

Hmpf1998:
adaliabooks is right -- you probably went to your profile, rather than your library (why there's no link between the two, I can't imagine).

Also, when you DO find your way to the library, make sure to download the "offline backup installers" -- they're literally just the old, Galaxy-free installers.
