v3: They have just announcedStreet Fighter V will be released for Linux. They advertise SteamOS as Valve is their official partner in the matter. Steam controller will be supported too.
Sounds like a "we've found a way to sell to linux users whilst keeping full drm on all products to me". Wouldn't touch steam os with a bargepole.
