gog2002x: If people want them to do the right thing, there has to be a starting point right?

If people didn't forgive me for all the BS I put them through during my lifetime, I'd be one lonely fella lol.

Sorry, but I'd rather love people than hate people. Each to their own I guess. :)

Breja: Here's the thing - the bugs and broken last-gen releases overshadow the fact, that apparently the game CD Projekt made, even if it worked perfectly, is just not even close to what they promised. I'll admit, I have not played it myself (nor do I intend to in any foreseeable future), but here's a great video on all the stuff promised and missing from the game, all the things that are not bugs, but bad design, ineptness or cutting corners. Stuff that's not going to be "fixed" because it's not "broken" - it's just what the game is.
When it comes to undelivered promised features, people are definitely right to ask for a refund if the game didn't meet their expectations. I'd do it too if it happened to me, though i don't get hyped too much and don't pre-order games until i can be sure about what i'm buying.

In any case, PR bull or not, i'm positive the developers will be working on improving the game, though it'll be interesting to see if that means just fixing the bugs or fixing the bugs AND introducing new features (or just the ones they promised, as you say) in the same time.

Linko64: I mean the bugs and issues are doing a fair job of overlooking the actual problems with the game. Even fully patched etc etc you can't fix some of the core issues. I'm curious to see how opinions change on the game when everything is 'fixed' and the game is reviewed on its content. Which isn't that great in all honesty, just kinda decent!

The cars look lovely though!

Orkhepaj: like the 3 starting backgrounds only differ for like 20 mins ? that is so meh
aye, that's part of it. A lot of the gameplay loops felt too similar to feel fresh. I went in wanting a good RPG, but I felt like the dialogue is mostly dull and leaves little room for the player to interact with. The most annoying part was every conversation feels like it's just there to project you towards the plot, leaving no room for world building. It's like we can 'see' the future, but we don't ever really know how or why we got there, or even how it impacts things. Everything is just very errr 'look at this but don't question'.

More games could use sections like the food market stall in Planescape

Jigowatts121: The release of Cyberpunk 2077 was bad and showed a level of deception that I would normally expect from EA not CDPR. We all loved it when CDPR said "we leave greed to others" but the reality is they put profit ahead of releasing a game before it was ready. I'd say for PC it could do with another year of development and for consoles probably longer..
Well, let's not forget that EA had a CDPR like reputation in the mid 90s. And Ubisoft was arguably the good guys at the turn of the century. Good intentions beget success, success begets complacency, complacency begets arrogance, arrogance begets bad behavior.

It'll be interesting to see what happens now that CDP is Kind Of A Big Deal, and if they do go bad who if anyone steps up to take their place. Lots and lots of indies with access to big crowdfund money these days.

For those who dont know - some Polish consumer protection thing threatened them with fines(*). Maybe they are trying to appease them. If they would have had a honest interest in honestly apologizing they would have apologized long ago.

Didn't read the articles but I imagine the fines have to do with the huge grant they received from the government a while back.

They sucked long before the anti china brigade turned up which makes that and the devotion issue look like an anti gog PR exercise from rivals, presstitutes and political activists.

He didn't explain why they chose to go out of their way to hide any and all footage of the console version and do everything in their power to make its state hidden until it was too late (when people had bought it).

If he's just going to spout even more lies and bullshit, it would have been better to shut up entirely.
