50% of devs are dicks and either dont mention it upfront or dillydally and unable to even confirm drm free before a KS finishes. really discouraging

i concur.

(i think i was you as well) whoever said it a few days ago about the "DRM-free game (+installer) being the furthest thing from a dev's mind, and when it gets broached in the early parts of a KS its always like hmmm never thought about that."

was totally spot on.
(i know i totally butched the quote and relevence but it was something like that).

my new fav is when they claim to be 'indie' but 'DRM-free' is seen as a foreign and to be avoided concept, as if its not seen as the magnetic power duo it was/ should be.

Just bought Doug TenNapel's SketchBook Vol 2 on KickStarter! :D

Also recommending it to any Earthworm Jim \ The Neverhood fan (or Armikrog!), I really like his art
and his first sketchbook was really great, I was so sad I missed it (he only makes copies
for the backers, and the copies backers sell at ebay are at least double\triple the price!)
so this is a great chance, only 4 days left to get it! ^^

requires a serial key for the installer, but doesnt phone home.

from the KS home page (in a FAQ section right above the 'standard' FAQ section w/ 'spoilers click' links):
"DRM?
A serial key will unlock the installer, but we will not 'phone home' or require an internet connection to play Stasis."
That game looks very very promising! Downloading its demo right now!!!
And talking about DRM, probably his position could change while KS its still running, or maybe after... I hope.

Whoa, sorry for being slow. Thanks for your pledge. As to apps:

That's a tricky question. We already did apps for another classic gamebook series, Fabled Lands. They did not sell. Then we ran a Kickstarter for our print gamebook Arcana Agency, an unknown with essentially no fanbase, and got the money we asked. So when it came to The Way of the Tiger . . . well, we guessed we should prioritize print books.

Good point about the music, though. It does make it that much easier to imagine doing apps in the future (even if I can't promise anything: we already have too much planned these upcoming months).

i hope so as well.
on his KS coming soon countdown it was DRM-free
then launch day he added in the bit about the serial code, someone mentioned it in the KS comments last night but i am low on time at the moment.
maybe more will unravel whilst im out.
