During short time does gog.com save our chat history?

The chat we have with other people are always preserved ?? In steam I had problems when I exchanged some text with other users and they were deleted.

In gog.com the chat we have with other friends are always kept ??

im guessing they do and provide evidence if needed, just like any other

I think they are always there. All my chats are still there.
I don't chat much though, so there might be a threshold.

Then in gog.com chats are saved forever unlike on steam?

My old chat messages disappeared. No idea according to what rules they are removed.

There was no removal, but during the (in)famouse PM->Chat migration some PM got lost. Supposedly temporarily, but this "temporarily" lasted for years now and I highly doubt those will ever be recovered.

Still that was supposedly a one-time thing. Other than that there is no removal policy.

Not true.

(I RETURN! ...only to find something out about a weird little dosbox game I have, but as I saw this...)

Anyways, if you block all chat and re-enble it, ALL messages are permenantly gone. Forever.

I've never blocked anyone so didn't know about this. Does it disappear for both people, or only the blocker?

It should be saved unless:
- you click on the "clear conversation" option in chat
- you lose your Internet connection and get the "messege not sent" warning (restoring your connection fixes that) - only the messege you were trying to send will be affected.
