But more to the point: Unless you were using Gog Galaxy [AND] the game supported cloud data saves? You're hosed, better keep backup next time.

First of all: if you played via Galaxy and had cloud saves enabled, your saves should be available to you as always.
If you played and saved offline only - tough luck.
I guess, you could use some sort of file recovery program.
But that might be the digital equivalent of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Now, if you tell us, where exactly in the game you have been, maybe someone would be wiling to send you a copy of their save game from around that point in the game?

If you can't recover the files in any way, an alternative solution would be to ask the community for a save ideally around your progression point to save on lost time.
