I can love to play with kittens as much as I love to write gut-churning/disturbing or pants-popping/panty-wetting descriptions. Mix the sweetest with the sourest - and you've got balance. I think the dynamics of such are undeniable, the sweet really does taste sweeter the more sour you've had before hand, and reversely, something can come off more sour depending on the level of sweetness that preceeded it.
Balance doesn't mean staying even-keeled all of the time, that's no balance at all, for when even the slighest of winds comes and shakes you, you're not used to it and can get thrown, you've got to have traversed the depths in order to be able to reach the heights.
Look to the yin-yang for understanding. It's not 1 solid color, it's black and white, the starkest of opposites in equal proportions creating the ultimate balance among all things.

Has anyone played One Night Werewolf? It's fast, somewhat open, fun and just a tad different. I'm still on playing hiatus but if people are interested I could host a quick game and see how well it works when it's forum-based.

Thinking about it...I think in order to simulate the simultaneous voting you'd need to have everyone PM their vote once voting is allowed. The drunk and a few of the other roles might be a little more difficult to simulate, but pretty sure it can be figured.
I think a couple mini-games or such could be good until we figure out the next regular game. A Russian Roulette, a Lovers, a One-Night, all doable I think.
I wonder if anyone is able/wanting to jump ahead of the host line and run a game, maybe even just run a previously run setup, and if that'd be okay with GOGfather and others if so.
Those on the hosting list, get your setups cranking!!!

Pretty sure it would work just fine.

And it is definitely a huge bonus to not have the RL issues like you noted with the movement and noise. When we play everyone usually is gracious and makes all sorts of noise while each person takes their turn. Banging the table and coughing and talking and stomping and clapping and whatnot. All while they have their eyes closed, it's pretty amusing. I have "moderated" it a few times and taught it/helped teach it to people a handful of times too, so have not played a few times and watched everyone play, as well as played a good amount too. It's fun.
My partner prefers it (at least for now, maybe because it is quicker and more simple and a little less intrigue/lie heavy, but it has also made her more open to/interested in regular werewolf/mafia.)
I prefer regular werewolf/mafia, but, again, definitely am interested in trying one-night forum-style, no doubt! Likely more than once if it goes well, which I imagine it would.

Feels like time to push a little bit:
-Trent: Since Trent seems to have gone dark, shall we skip him as a host until he returns? I was going to PM him, but he seems to have done the equivalent of hanging a "Do Not Disturb" sign.
-Krypsyn: I've poked Krypsyn via PM, to query his readiness.
-Drealmer has said he needs at least another 2 weeks.
-Hijack said he isn't ready yet.
-Lift might be next, if Krypsyn isn't ready?
-Dedo has a short game he might try, if Lift also isn't ready.

I can be ready. I just would definitely need a co-moderator who can cover for me when I am abroad. Work still bites me in the ass sometimes and steals all my free time.
One question: I would be interested in trying a Cult game. I know everyone says they are impossible to balance, but I never played one and would like to test that theory (and I'd try my best to balance it - and in any case make it fun). But I can run something different if you all say "Ewww! Cults are yucky!"
And a second question: what about that Hot Fuzz Mafia Game? Is that anywhere near ready to run?
