You brought it off g2a, in which case its likely a fraudulent key which will be revoked. +1 for effort though.

I don't know about likely, but definitely possibly.

For the record, none of my G2A purchases ever got revoked, but I only bought Steam keys at reasonable prices, back before I found out they were a shitbag store.

I have bought 6 games off G2A, and they all worked, uplay, steam and origin. take it or leave it, im sure itll work.
It's against GOG's policy to honor keys purchased from G2A. I'm still giving you a +1 for your generosity though.

This is what everyone says when it's pointed out what a shady grey-market key-reseller G2A is. Sure, you bought some keys that worked. And that's great: you didn't get burned. Yet. But sooner or later it will happen. There are no providers of legitimate GOG keys other than GOG, some Kickstarter projects, and very very rarely there may be a GOG key provided in bundles like Humble (I actually only recall this happening once).

GOG has removed games from peoples' game shelves here before when it was discovered that the keys from G2A were obtained fraudulently, so beware of them.

That being said, +1 as well for the generous thought.

No, it's definitely not against GOG's policy to redeem or even buy games from G2A.

It might be against policy to sell games there, but GOG will have to prove you're purposely buying and selling them there to make a profit.

GOG will revoke keys purchased fraudulently (e.g. through stolen credit cards), but that's irrespective of whether it was through G2A or not. Of course being the cesspit it is, if you spend enough time with G2A, you will come across fraudulent keys rather sooner than later.

Little hint: Don't post keys like that out in the open. There are bots parsing the forums claiming keys if they find them. You might support the wrong people this way.

If you want to just give away a key, make it into a little riddle that only a human can solve. Like replacing some letters and posting an according hint.

Anyway: nice one :-)
I really CBF proving it, I only logged in to post this thread for a key.
I didnt fraud a key, I just looked for a cheaper key, which I bought with my hard earned $2. I have had good run on G2A yes sure a key may be shady but not any I bought, has every EBAY transaction gone perfect?
Im not promoting G2A either, its one of many sites I use to buy games, like steam or origin etc.
If GoG bans me or summons lightning, go for it

Nobody was criticizing you. It was more warning you for your own benefit to be wary of G2A, because they do provide shady services to resellers. They are one of the reasons for the recent shift in gifting options on Steam. We just wanted you to be aware so you don't get burned.

No one is accusing you of anything or asking you to prove anything. It's not the buyers from G2A who fraud the key, it's the sellers who often sell keys they aquired using stolen credit cards.

And if the seller was indeed non-legit, the key gets revoked and the buyer is left with nothing (or if they do a charge-back, it's GOG who ends up having to cover it).
