I thought this might be fun: let's pick movies that go well with some games. Not movies based on games however, or movies that are part of the same overall franchise. I'm talking officially unrelated movies that have a similar setting, style, story etc. You know, something you can watch to stay in the same mood (or something you can play, if you're starting with the film).

For example:

Wolfenstein games - Overlord - a highly underrated little film from 2018, very well acted with gooda ction andsepcial effects, it basically feels like a B-movie horror that somehow got a budget upgrade. A story of a squad of WWII paratroopers who find themselves in a town where in a nazi held fortress horrible experiments are performed, that result in the creation of zombie-like supersoldiers, I think it's obvious why this goes very well with the Wolfenstein series.

Max Payne - Payback - probably one of the more forgotten of Gibson's films, this is a great thriller that shares a lot with the Max Payne games: the neo-noir feel, the main character's narration as he kills his way up the food chain of an organised crime family, the somewhat caricature-ish nature of it all, and even some double pistols action. Gibson even kinda looks like a cross between the first and second game's Max (more like the second though). It may lack the Twin Peaks oddity factor and the Norse mythology, but it's still as close to a good MP film as I can think of.

Prince of Persia The Sands of Time - Aladdin - wouldn't work for the later games, as they changed the style radically, but the first games in the trilogy shares a lot that fable-is Arabian Nights feel, not to mention the obligatory evil Vezir, with the Disney classic.
This seems interesting, I'll definitely follow this if this gets some popularity.
I admit that I don't frequently watch movies so most likely my suggestions would be really bad :D

Nevertheless, I suppose that you could find a lot of pairings from big series, like LotR and Elder Scrolls or MoH/CoD/BF and WW2 movies.
Here's an obscure pairing: the movie Reign of Fire with the game Legendary. Both involve a modern setting besieged by mythical creatures. (dragons vs. griffons)
Crysis (Crysis Warhead) - Skyline

Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game - Pandorum

Alpha Protocol / Phantom Doctrine - The Bourne Identity / The Bourne Supremacy / The Bourne Ultimatum / Jason Bourne

Graveyard Keeper - The Adams Family

Far Cry Primal - The Man from Earth

Apsulov: End of Gods - The Ritual

SOMA - Underwater

The Sims - Jeanne Dielman
Lies of P - I, Robot

The similarities are intentional, but they definitely mirror each other in narrative to an extent.
Loving these pairings! I’ll throw in one: Control and Annihilation. Both have that eerie, reality-bending vibe with mysterious organizations and mind-warping visuals. Perfect match if you're into that trippy sci-fi mood.
The Chronicles of Riddick & The Chronicles of Riddick.

I think you've got something there. They even both iccupy that space where they are not really great, but they are a lot of fun.

Super Street Fighter IV and Enter the Dragon.

The premise of both is that a notorious crime figure hosts a martial arts tournament that is a front for recruiting new members from the attending skilled fighters, to aid in the criminal activities. In both, there is at least one attendee seeking to gain information about the criminal organisation behind the event or their activities. Also in both, Bruce Lee (or his homage, Fei Long) also feature.
