01kipper: FIST OF AWESOME. Although I enjoyed the graphics, music, and story (such as it is :D), the gameplay itself is just a repetitive button-masher (not my type of game) and I couldn't bring myself to finish it.
It's amusing for about 1.5 hours, then frustrating for the last half an hour. Worth it if you get it cheap, not really worth persevering unless you're a big fan of punching bears (I've just finished it, and it filled a bear punching hole I had today)

I'd put forward Beyond Divinity as something that I've given up on at least for the time being. Divine Divinity was a great, if slightly hackneyed RPG with an ending that's a bit boring. Beyond Divinity has 'optional' sections that help you gain experience through fighting. Problem is, the grinding is necessary so that you don't die..

Titan Quest. Very pretty, but goes on forever with too much fighting and too little story.

Is it worth persevering with Magicka? After a while it looked too much like a fast button pressing exercise than anything else. It's possible my strategy just sucks..

I loved KOTOR, especially the fact the combat is turn based and that you can issue a series of commands then sit back and watch awesome light sabre battles from several angles.

Actually, that is not turn based but "real time with pause".

Enebias: As always, the caracters are walking clichès, with the usual Bioware Good-Evil dualism rules without mercy (though this time it is a bit more justified, since Star Wars always tended to me quite "manichaestic") and dialogues that often fall into banality.
This is actually fixed in KotOR 2 (and Solomon's Revenge mod has - in my opinion - better story than the original game).
I loved this game when I played it for the first time but after playing TSL and then trying to play KotOR again I found the later to be pretty dull plot- and character-wise.

Well, the deveopers were not Bioware but Obsidian! :)
I should consider playing KotOR 2, someday. I love Obsidian's writing, but since the first chapter didn't thrill me and the game is notoriously unfinished and full of bugs I have never tried it.

I often hear that the mods restored a lot of missing content and made it complete: in your opinion, how much is this statement true?

Based on my latest playthrough:
- The bugs has been purged and I haven't encountered any.
- The (notorious) ending is still a big dungeon filled with enemies but now the 'action' is often cut by some interesting story elements and all your party members are given a proper closure (pretty much like in Planescape: Torment)
- There is one big and important location that was cut from the original game and now one character's backstory makes much more sense.
- You can add one more important location but it has lots of added content on top of what was cut (but it's well made and works very well with the plot)
So, I would say TSL with TSLRM is a complete game with proper closure. Very good one, I might add.

Thank you, I will keep this in mind! :)
Thief (2014) I've tried...twice, I just give up.

Hitman Absolution (2012) Nice production values, but the scores system hanging on my shoulder and linear level design make me plow through levels without much consideration, though towards Dexter Industry levels I just gave up.

KoToR II (2005) with TSLRCM: I'm sorry to say, because it's obviously a great game, I just tend to lose momentum with it when I get to Nar Shadda, I'll be having a great time for 15+ hours then I just fizzle out.

NoNewTaleToTell: Jade Empire. Oh, the first real fight of the game is a several stage wave/boss fight without any checkpoints or ability to quicksave in between stages? Hahaha....get off my hard drive.
Was that the fight on the beach? That was pretty frustrating and to me it felt like the hardest of them all. Weird decision to put it right in the beginning. Most of the fights that come after it are a cakewalk in comparison. I was probably close to giving up, too, at that point, but I'm glad I didn't.

That was the one, I'll probably give Jade Empire another go eventually but putting a fight like that at the very beginning of the game was just a really awful design decision in my opinion.
Hello, this is my first post :D
I just quit Starcraft 2 and Heroes of the storm >.< due to boredom... I think that is not the games that I looking for to play. Also it was indeed really fun.

Just dumped Penumbra Requim.

Worst freakin' control interface I've ever seen.

Struggle with it through the first two iterations, but for the life of me couldn't get past the second chapter in the last game - controls are just utterly fubar.

Glad to have this POS off my System - avoid this shit
F.E.A.R.

I'm quitting at right about the half way point of the game, maybe it gets better but these are my thoughts at where I quit.

It's not scary. It's not suspenseful. It's not atmospheric. It is often advertised as those three things but at its heart it's generic corridor shooter #48502. It does have the occasional (as in once a level or so) ten second long surreal/spooky moment but those aren't really entertaining or worth remembering for the most part, they're just there. I never felt surprised or scared by any of the "scary" moments, they're usually telegraphed from a mile away, just like the enemy encounters are. Keep in mind that I've mostly played it at night with the lights out and headphones on, aka the "correct" way to play it, according to its fans.

As for some good things to say about it, the gunplay is mostly well done and the AI is absolutely fantastic, some of the best AI you'll find in an FPS. Enemies use a variety of tactics, adapt to their environment and are generally pretty smart, I can't say enough good things about its AI really. Graphically it looks decent enough and the weapons sound nice and meaty.

I really enjoyed the early part of the game when I was still adjusting to the AI and there were semi-open areas that gave both me and AI the freedom to plan different tactics, and I would probably keep trying to finish it if it had continued in that vein despite the "horror" being terrible, but it has settled into being just another cramped office/corridor based shooter and that is boring me to tears.
Mage Gauntlet (Android)

Uninspired, repetitive, boring.
Just another Android cash grab I got with a bundle.
At first I thought it might be cool, because it looks a bit like Terranigma on first glance, but then it was just mindless monster bashing with occassional spells etc... controlling this via touchscreen is bad enough but it's made without any love and even shows it proudly with the dialogues that deliberately try to squeeze any immersion out of it in order to try to be funny, but they are not.

Achievement hunting, nothing more.
