AWG43: It appears this is what Abishia is trying to tell.

Kind of funny way to memorize your account credentials. And honestly It's also quite dangerous to save it like this.

Abishia: what do you expect with a 24 digit random password
a fine example how something like this looks like.
basically all my passwords i use are random strings of code. 99.9% have a remember function

J#:V/}n]HMD<;3!>eWHTas%x
[...]
instead of a random string, use a sentence you can remember, for example; iliketolikbrownhorsesto. this is just as difficult to brute force as your passowrd is, but can be memorised

pippin15: Patches come to Galaxy first, and cloud saves are convenient.
Well, I was asking the OP whether they needed it. And yes, both are true to some, but neither are an absolute requirement for all users.

For instance, cloud saves are near worthless to me since I have one machine at home and I don't really care enough if the laptop goes kaput and I lose my saves. If I was concerned I'd back up my saves manually with a script.

There are at least 2 password generator sites inspired by that xkcd comic.

MarkoH01: Like I said, you could write it down.

Remembering your password or chosing one that you can remember or writing it down is your responsibility. Saving password is a convenience and nothing more.

Wrong. The last time I logged into my GOG account or into Galaxy was months ago. That either makes your statement wrong or myself a magician ;)

Abishia: convenience!. that's why all digital security advisors, advise to use a password manager.
so you can store each password it's own unique random code string.
Not to derail from the topic, but, you know many password managers on official stores have internet connection right?
And they store user passwords, on servers (cloud). And that the last big 2 password leaks happened with Norton and LastPass, two big companies.

https://password-managers.bestreviews.net/faq/which-password-managers-have-been-hacked/

Not saying Password managers aren't useful, but you need to take care what kind of password manager you use too.
Internet connection is a no no for passwords. Store them securely and encrypted offline if you will.

and yea GOG is responsible for not saving password, and no it's being saved on service they add with the software.
it's unnecessary garbage that have no purpose to exist.
Okay, you are obviously delusional and therefore I am out of this "discussion". I hope you grow up fast and learn how the world works so that it won't kick your naive behind in the end.
