tates627: I just recently purchased stardew valley, and upon trying to install the game it prompts me to get GOG Galaxy. Once installed GOG Galaxy opens, but will not connect. I have added rules into the firewall to allow GOG Galaxy and GalaxyClientService traffic through, as well as temporarily disabling my an antivirus software to rule that out as well. Any advice on how to get this working to install this and Shadow Warrior 2 would be greatly appreciated.
paladin181: You don't need Galaxy. Just download the "backup" installer from the website. If you are intent on actually using Galaxy, I'd totally disable your firewall for a few seconds to rule that out, too. Sometimes the exceptions or ports needed aren't readily apparent. Obviously, don't leave it disabled.
I had added the rest of the GOG services (Galaxyclient Helper, and GOG Galaxy Notifications Renderer) to the firewall rule as well. This allows me to log in and get to my library, however it cannot retrieve the EULA to accept to start the download. I get the same result even when I temporarily disable the firewall as well.
I am also curious if this is a known issue with GOG Galaxy, as the only way to play online is through this client. If this is a common issue I will probably refrain from buying from GOG again as I prefer the ability to play my games online when I am paying for this.
Thank you for your assistance, BTW!
