Lifthrasil: as self-declaration of experience makes it look even more off. In what world is 'I have no clue what I am doing' equivalent to 'I am experienced'?
Are you deliberately taking this out of context, or are you simply missing the point?

avatar
nmillar: I played in game 1. I still don't have a clue what I'm doing.
This was a direct response to.

avatar
FlockeSchnee: EBWOB:
I'm sorry. I'm worried about someone/for someone (I don't know which is correct) close to me. I panicked. I don't want to make a mistake. I feel better now.

gamerelated bit: I will try again. But I don't know, if I will be of much help.

Thank you, for being so understanding.
The point was to re-assure our newcomer that even people who've been playing the game for a while don't really know what they're doing most of the time too, and their inexperience doesn't really matter, as we're all completely in the dark at the start of the game, unless we're on the scum team.

OK. If you say so. I read that differently and it appeared to me as a red flag. Also, it doesn't change that, apart from your vote on ZFR because no one else voted him, there hasn't been much input from you.
avatar
Lifthrasil: Are you sure? nmillar himself stresses that he's inexperienced.
Wat.

It was like "I still don't know what I'm doing despite my great experience.". Maybe I read nmillars intentions correctly because his statement is pretty much true of me also.

Still, I'd better not throw stones at your inattentiveness lest I break my glass house. ;)

Silly mistake yes, but I doubt you'd be more likely to do that as scum. When I read that first quote I was ready to come down on you hard, but after reading your explanation it seems a lot more reasonable.
I (still) don't see any Mafia, so I vote accordingly:

vote No-Lynch

@dedo: If no-lynch isn't an official option (didn't see it in the first post on a quick skim), please take it as me as ramaining not-voting.
VOTE COUNT

GymHenson 2 - Bookwyrm627 (#24), Pookina (#135)
Bookwyrm627 2 - blotunga (#5), GymHenson (#7)
blotunga 1 - Micorfish_1 ([#32)
Lifthrasil 2 - ZFR (#138), nmillar (#208)
nmillar 1 - Lifthrasil (#204)
No-Lynch 1 - FlockeSchnee (#214)

Not voting - Catte

With 10 players it takes 6 votes to achieve a lynch.

Bookwyrm627, GymHenson and Lifthrasil are closest to lynch at L-4.

D1 ends in just over 1 day.
The nmillar vs lift is an interesting development, but from nmillar's reaction it might be simple town vs town. But if anyone cares to find out, willing to lynch both :)
For people who are waiting for D2 to get going before they get more involved, would one of you please volunteer to be the lynch for D1?

Would you pleace name those people, so they know you mean them?
Can we at least have some input on who's willing to vote whom like BW did? I'm willing to switch to GH if the Lift wagon is going nowhere but I don't know, because aside from nmillar (yes) and BW (no) I have absolutely no idea.
avatar
blotunga: I think wyrm and zfr trying to somehow make lynch-wishlist is commendable, but not really something we can rely on since we're kinda in the dark. Well, except scum, who probably laugh their asses off in day chat about how nicely they manipulate us.
The idea is that if everyone does it, scum has to do it or stand out. If everyone lists their reasons, then scum has to do it or stand out. This forces scum to find or manufacture reasons for a vote, instead of just hopping on any townie going.

Nmiller, Pooka, and Blotunga leap to my mind. When I have some more time, I'll go back through the thread to look again.

Catte gets a half pass due to Life happening suddenly. GH has used a lot of words, but I don't recall much substance.

Not: Me, Lift, ZFR, Flocke, and not much Micro.

Pookina: ...
The only part I can add on is the No Lynch discussion. I know ZFR isn't pushing for it, but let me just add my opinion here:

no.
...
Yeah, I have nothing else to say. Just end my misery already, can we skip to day 2
^However, credit where credit is due.

Really? After the discussion that it would be prudent to conserve our no-lynch safety margin you vote no-lynch? So do you disagree with wanting to keep that safety net? Or do you expect that you'll see any Mafia tomorrow, without having a wagon to analyze?

@all: even though my 'red flag' on nmillar turned out to be a misunderstanding, my other point remains. His vote appeared opportunistic and there was no other input - apart from his OMGUS vote on me. So my preferred lynch is still nmillar. I might be convinced to switch to GH. There is enough that feels off - but there always is with GH. Also, I would be kind of sad to lynch one of the most active players so early. Catte would be a third place.

I would not lynch me, ZFR (not yet at least) or Bookwyrm. The latter two seem to be invested in searching scum. Of course that can be faked, but for now they lean Town for me. My read on ZFR would change to 'scummy' if nmillar flips Scum, however. Or (slightly less) if GH flips scum, actually, since the GH/ZFR conflict could be a distancing effort.
I personally see no reason to lynch someone just for "I don't see anything, but could still be an enemy". Just to be clear, as long as I don't see Mafia, that's what I'm gonna vote.

If it bothers you, you know what to do and you don't need me for that.

There is no safety net.
8 Town, 2 Mafia. I don't need to be a genius to figure out whom we're most likely going to lynch. Everyone stated their their suspects (except me, because there aren't any). You lynch Town toDay, you will still see who was willing to go along with it and who wasn't and the NK will tell us something more. Just don't keep me around for LYLO, because there will be pushing for voting No-Lynch and you don't know my alignment.
I'm actually tempted to vote no lynch.

1. The Maths™ supports it. This is something I learned when running my previous game.

2. I missed a couple of days toDay so the deadline feels shorter to me than it otherwise would have. I don't want to ask for an extension, but I also don't have any strong reasons to vote for anyone.

Given that NL on D1 is actually not bad with the numbers we have, I

vote nolynch

for now.

Fine. Make the case for the positives of No Lynch beyond "Scum still need the same number of Days to kill everyone".

Let's say we No Lynch. What do we learn, at all, from that? What does a No Lynch tell us about who is and is not scum? How can a No Lynch help us in the future determine who is and is not scum?

What can we possibly learn from the Night Kill? Are there any Night Kills that actually provide information about who is scum (except for confirming the now-deceased player wasn't scum)?
