I am confused about this program. Is this a community games testing program? Or just another marketing angle? I was under the impression that GOG already does this with games. I am certain I misunderstood something about this program, but I do not see any additional information that clarifies what it is, what it does, how to join the program, and what I, (we), can do to assist with the program's mission.

Neither! Both!
Mostly marketing bullhonky with a little smidge of an attempt to refresh many titles!

It's rather a misnomer of a name, it could be called "Vivec's anti-cliff racer cantrip" and mean about the same to the average person.

So here's how it goes:
A) There's a seal GOG slaps onto games that they think, "eeeh, good enough!", even if said game files haven't changed to include the latest Dosbox or whatever.

B) Some games not worky so good anymore. So GOG tried to spiff up these titles. To mixed results.
They are basically using some third party open source wrappers in many of these titles that have the seal. What they are doing, anyone with some knowledge about these wrappers can do. For example, recently Legacy of Kain - Defiance was updated, and the changelog states that (https://www.gogdb.org/product/1207659088/releasenotes) now the game runs using only one CPU core, well, I have been running Defiance for years on one CPU core using this: https://github.com/elishacloud/dxwrapper

You may come across some games that use DirectDraw using this: https://github.com/FunkyFr3sh/cnc-ddraw

Anyway, these wrappers are open source and by far two great options to solve issues related to graphics and compatibility problems. DxWrapper can solve sound problems as well.
Thank you for the input. I thought it might be a marketing thing or similar. Was hoping GOG was looking for game testers to test playability of some games. If such a program ever comes to fruition, I would certainly volunteer.
