NSFW Sale is still ongoing... ;-)
My order list informs me that it was half a year since I last bought something on GOG but I did add one item to my mental wishlist this April.
I have noticed that GOG's name appear online more often nowadays :)

When watching gaming videos on Youtube the youtubers would often only mention the consoles and Steam ("Steam" is often used instead of "PC") when people asked where to buy the games, but more and more often I have heard youtubers mention GOG as well :)
And more and more developers mention GOG on their websites too, and the latest game I played even had a place in their discord to report bugs on GOG, just like they had for the other platforms, and also announced whenever GOG got the latest patch. A nice surprise for me since many of the games I have played before seem to want to pretend they're not selling any games here.

It's nice to see GOG slowly but surely becoming more known among casual gamers too, but it really wouldn't hurt to advertise a bit more :)

Step one could be to ask everyone who sells their game here to please list GOG among the links to shops on their website :P

But yes, thank you very much GOG for selling me games instead of only letting me rent them :) I have found a lot of amazing old and new games here, and every sale has something new for me to grab!
It's been great since Demons Roots released in january, the rest of games are a nice addon tho!

LOL. The one area my mind does not need any expanding in.

I never bother to specifically check those types of games in sales or otherwise. I'm not against them, just they don't really interest me, except free ones. I get titillated enough as it is. ;P

P.S. Leisure Suit Larry games aside ... which I mostly got free at IndieGala, and then bought the two new ones here at a good discount. Whether I will ever bother to play any of them, that's another matter ... they are low priority for me, and only something I might play as something different ... and for the humor.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: I totally disagree with the thread title and premise of the OP.

Halfway through the year and literally the only notable releases so far were Dawn of War and the Yakuza games.

Except Dawn of War is gimped with no Crossplay, therefore that game is not even worth buying on GOG.

And other than those few releases, it's been the usual absolute drought, with very few to zero top tier games being released on GOG, and with the typical frequency of rarely to never.

Show me a year where there is at least one top tier premium game released on GOG every single month, and then that would be a "good year at GOG for games." But such a year does not actually exist, and 2023 is not that year either.
AAA are shit.

I think it's been a pretty good year for GOG, and I base that simply on the fact that before I buy a game I check if it's on GOG. And last year only 1 game (Persona 5) wasn't. Everything else I've been interested in buying has been on GOG. So that's pretty neat.
