San Andreas has the Downgrader, AsiLoader, Silent Patch and removes DRM completely.

GTA 3 and Vice City, have Silent Patch, but no DRM removal. Anyone knows a mod, like the aforementioned ones for San Andreas, which makes the game run without CD/DVD? Having to search manually for a crack like ancient times, is dangerous (various infections), time consuming and requires circumvention (google prevents you from using certain websites, with error messages and fake credential reports, which forces you to use VPN and browsers other than Chrome).

Please help? I decided to start a huge run of all old GTAs, but i am facing this problem (i don't want putting the disc inside the system, while playing).
Option 1) try to make an image of the disc and mount that instead of the real disc when you try to play.

Option 2) ignore the shit google says and just look for a patch. Don't run any binaries before checking their hashes and looking up virus scan results. You can upload files to virustotal.com.

Usually old and proven "legit" cracks are found on multiple sites and filenames point to known scene groups. Also worth checking out the first submission date to make sure you're not looking at some fresh piece of malware that was auto-generated when you downloaded the files.

Here's one example for v1.1, attributed to fairlight: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/ab03b1c20ad003894398f83f365889d4e81cb045a4c4fce99888253ab490e89b/details

If you're paranoid, just use some old, non-internet-connected PC with no personal data on it to play these old games with old cracks. Suddenly it doesn't matter at all if it's full of malware, you can just wipe everything after you're done. Virtual machines are an alternative, though not as watertight as an airgapped PC. If that's not an option, there are still ways to restrict a program's access to your filesystem and network. This is the least secure option, but e.g. an old piece of malware targeting windows would be very very unlikely to target a Linux host that runs the program in a container.

Also if you're paranoid, use a virtual machine to extract those zips and rars.

Option 3) crack it yourself. Have fun ;3

According to PCGamingWiki for GTA 3 Silent Patch you only need to copy music from CD:

I don't see how using some random mods is easier or safer than using a crack. There are sites like GameCopyWorld that are around for 20 years, I doubt they would last this long if they were unsafe. Maybe trusting Google and using Chrome is the problem. Few weeks ago WidescreenGamingForums was forced to close because Google falsely flagged their website as malicious. In future same could happen to Moddb, PCGamingWiki and other sites with user made stuff. I once worked on a hobby video game and antivirus programs would flag it as a keylogger. I never installed one again.

Thanks, I never realized Silent Patch is a thing.
Back to playing GTA Brad? Remember when you asked for a GTA patch (it was either IV or V) to make it more "black" by adding more drug dealers and hookers? :P

I'm sure you'll deny it, but I'm afraid it's true, and yes, it's still disturbs the shit out of me. XD
