SentinelWolf: ATI: I had a long history of overheating radeons. Playing splinter cell while using a hair drier on cold, cooling my gfx card so i could keep playing without green spots on the walls.
rtcvb32: ATI-Rage128. I've had one, it ran HOT all the time, left the case off and a separate fan blowing inside the case the entire time i used it. It was a surprise when i swapped cards that ran cool, and never touched that card since. (
still got it)
Interesting how personal experience shapes us. In the 25+ years I've owned computers, I had different components from different manufacturers, except for two things:
- All my graphics cards have always been ATI (never had a problem)
- All my printers have always been HP (greatly pleased with all of them)
