Yes I have and actually yeah, all Sodark games are somewhat similar. They're also quite worth it.

Drox Operative is also somewhat similar to an old online game called Armada, which was like the precursor game of Eve Online.

If you look at some of the files, it uses the same engine with some tweaks to be a space game.

The game is a lot more fun with the big mod Madworld (Note, the game won't work unless you edit it to say the version is compatible).

You might play the game a bit to get a feel for it. Other mods speed up and make the game less hit and run and slow as hell and more action oriented.
