[Begin EDIT:
The other thread is about whether Galaxy should be optionally uninstallable.
This thread is related by being about Galaxy not being uninstallable on a . Congratulations Windows users for having the favored OS. Hopefully you all will succeed over in [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/offline_installers_with_an_option_to_install_gog_galaxy]that thread and Galaxy won't become "optionally uninstallable", especially since Galaxy is not uninstallable in a standard Mac way.

Today, GOG revealed games purchased on their website will include the "option to install the GOG Galaxy client from the offline installers downloaded via GOG.com" starting later this week with a list of more than 100 games.
In the announcement GOG also revealed the option to install Galaxy will already be selected by default in order to automatically install Galaxy when installing the game. Rather than Galaxy being an "optional install", Galaxy will be an "optional not install".
Every. Single. Time. A. Purchased. Game. Is. Installed. From. A. Downloaded. Game. Installer. From. GOG.
Otherwise, Galaxy will be automatically installed when the game is installed from the offline installer. If you don't uncheck the checkbox and don't want Galaxy after it is installed, then you will need to remove it afterwards. It's not clear to me whether Galaxy itself is bundled with the game or a second download is initiated when installing the game. It's also not clear to me when Galaxy is installed: before or after the game is installed?
Regardless, if you have a Mac then you should be aware Galaxy is not an app that can be completely uninstalled simply by moving it to the Trash, and that GOG has not provided any means for completely removing Galaxy from the macOS, t.i. no uninstaller. Galaxy places files across the whole operating system. That means Galaxy is not made as a native app for macOS, therefore Galaxy is not user friendly for people using a Mac. Good luck cleaning up GOG's programming mess once you no longer want it, or when restoring from a backup and not wanting to restore Galaxy at first. Not that "luck" would help in any of those circumstances. (I'm using it on a Mac right now only because I haven't gotten around to doing a fresh install of macOS to ensure there are no traces of Galaxy remaining. Still trying to appreciate it…)
{Linux users beware of a version of Galaxy like that for Linux, if ever. For me, such a mess hasn't been worth it for the Mac.}
