badbrotha: Here's my issue, I download the client, go to log in for the first time, get to the screen for the e-mail verification, and I never get the e-mail. I have tried multiple times, but it never comes. I have put in multiple tickets about the issue, and I never get a reply back. I have The Witcher tied to the account, so I can't just create a new account with a different e-mail without losing the game, nor can I log in to change the e-mail tied to my current account.
Is there a way to bypass the verification e-mail, or change it so I can be able to log in?
Double check that the email address on file on GOG is the same email address you are checking. Also check your spam folders in your email if you or your mail provider has a spam filtering solution in place.
GOG support generally responds to most issues within 24-48 hours during the business week (business hours in Poland), however they have a skeleton crew operating on weekends which handle some priority issues that arise as well. If you file a ticket late Friday or on the weekend, this means it may take until Tuesday or even Wednesday (if Monday is a holiday) to hear back from them depending on the nature of the issue and various other factors.
There is no way to bypass the verification or it would defeat and invalidate the security mechanism that it is intended to provide. You can get the attention of GOG employees here in the forums to investigate the issue if you don't get a response within the documented response time frame.
Two other possibilities which I've personally experienced with not receiving verification mails on various websites online although I don't recall it happening to me on GOG specifically, is if your email is hosted on an email server that uses greylisting as an anti-spam solution then the mails may be delayed by 4-6 hours by the mail server software or discarded entirely. Another problem is if one is using Google Gmail or some other mail service that allows the use of custom email aliases by adding "+<alias>" on the end of one's email username. It works sometimes and other times some poorly written email software (which is in abundance out there) rejects the email address as being invalid for containing a "+" character even though it is perfectly valid. These last two are just some friendly info that are wild shots in the dark however. If none of this applies to you your best bet is to wait patiently for GOG to respond and if they don't respond within a few days to escalate it via a GOG employee in the forums here (blue texts).
Hope this helps.
