Boonefab52: Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. Thank you even more for volunteering to put it all in an executable file. Some of your message, though I am sure is literally filled with the most rudimentary of directions, still sent over my head. I am more than willing to learn. (teach a man to fish yadda yadda) So if you are willing to provide the recipe as it were I would happily go from there.
Well most of it is following the notes and comments within the config file. Example, for the scaler you can specify how it handles it when it resizes, usually in some level of zoom, so said options are listed above, like None, Normal2x, Normal3X, Hq2x, Hq3x, etc.
https://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Scaler Some of the more complex things like IO ports, IRQ and other things likely don't touch. But the scaler and graphical and CPU options are probably the easiest.
but basically it's
setting=value, as long as it's a legal value it should work. The config says what types of values are possible. Otherwise the dosbox wiki also has in depth examples and details.
