I purchased the wrong game on August 26th. I immediately put in a refund request. I chose the 'other' option, not my Wallet as I want the money sent back to my original funding source. I did not download or play the game at all. I did get an email stating that the refund request was received. It is now Sep 2, one week later, and... nothing from GOG. I do not wish to dispute this charge with my bank, I just want my money back.

How long does a refund typically take with GOG?

For Wallet refunds, a maximum of a week

For Bank account refund a month maximum

Usually it use to be much less time. Specially for wallet refunds. I`d guess it is due to more bureaucracy in the process

See Gudadantza's post. Time depends on how you want the refund (money = longest, credit = shortest) and the payment method used originally for the purchase (quickest for funds to clear into GoG's account = quickest refund)
It's probably an end of the month thing, where they want their statistics to look good for the month.

But to date I have never refunded a game ... just not me ... so I really don't know.
Thank you for the replies. I am guessing I only have 30 days to dispute this with my bank, so hopefully they begin the refund process soon.
What they maybe should do, is to have the wallet where it can return funds to your bank or source (if within a certain timeframe). So that way you get an immediate refund (especially for games you bought but haven't downloaded within the 2 week period), and hey maybe you decide to buy more games instead.

But if you don't want it, you can click 'return to source' and select source(s) of where it was purchased from, and a refund process will start while locking those funds. And funds that can't be restored would be in a separate pool.

Honestly though if you're actively buying games here, having up to $200 on hand in the wallet wouldn't be a bad thing.
