I just finished playing Sanitarium and I'm truly sad it's over. I looked at the related games suggested by GOG, I searched online, I really looked, but I don't see anything else quite like that game in terms of mixing adventure and surreal psychological horror. I mean, other than Silent Hill, of course.

Seriously, tell me what I should play if I want more of that kind of game.

Also, have a good day, anyone who reads this. :)

I heard Stasis being compared to Sanitarium, and the producer himself said Sanitarium was one of the inspirations, but I haven't played it myself, so I don't know.

I can recommend Lone Survivor, it's basically a 2D Silent Hill .

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them out.

Also, gotta say, usually a user's first post in a community is subject to harassment or trolling, so thanks to both you and GOG for being so nice to a newbie.
maybe Fran Bow?
you could give it a try ... enjoy!

Now that I think about it, you should take a look at Knock-Knock and Harvester as well .
Harvester is a great game but it doesn't take itself very seriously, in fact it's down right gruesomely hilarious, and that does take away some of the mystery and creepy atmosphere that Sanitarium has.

Shadow of the Comet and Prisoner of Ice have some tentacles, but in a Lovecraftian atmosphere.
I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream is really, really good and creepy.

The already mentioned Harvester might be a candidate as well, but it's more surreal and absurd than outright scary, as it aims more for media satire instead of horror, parodying the outrage over violent videogames that happened in the early nineties.

I guess Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh kind of tried being a psychological horror game, but ended up being kind of goofy instead. It has its effective moments, though.

Nah... You must be thinking of some other gaming site ;-)

Welcome to the forum, and hang around for a bit. You might like it in here.
You might want to consider checking out The Cat Lady. Gives off some similar vibes in my opinion.

That does happen around here as well, but it mostly depends on how said first post is worded. If there's a focus on complaints about GOG --say, there's no cloud saving, there's no way to save your credit card number, or GOG doesn't sell Steam codes-- yes the poster will be ripped a new one, but otherwise, we're mostly a fairly civil bunch.
This just had to be posted \m/

I agree re:I have no mouth... Good game, well worth grabbing.

I got that one's prequel just now (dunno, art style looked neater), Downfall, and every time I run it I just get a blank screen and some violin playing. I am running Wind 8.1 on a Surface Pro 3 with 4GB Ram and an i3. Compatibility mode didn't work.

Any suggestions? No problem if nobody knows; I'll just get a refund or even just shrug off the five bucks.
Hm, Memoria, Primordia and Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons. Dunno if it's available here.

GOG's Downfall forum has some posts that mention that setting it to windowed mode and/or setting your graphics driver to 16 bit color instead of 32-bit color may workaround problems like this.
