I had a full cart of Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale 2 music, but forgot to actually check out, and the discount expired — and the difference is massive. I've noticed Enhanced Editions are often on promotion, but how long, more or less, as a guess of course, do you guys expect it could take before the music is once again discounted? I have it on my wishlist now, of course, so I will be notified when that happens, but how long should I expect the 'ETA' to be for the next discount on the same titles?

No one knows other than GOG. I mean we could guess at the summer sale, but it’s a complete guess with nothing to go on. Will something bad happen if you don’t get these by a certain date?

Could be a scenario of having the money to spare now but not in the future.

First, Neverwinter Nights is still on sale over the weekend (via the Weekly Sale)... as are a couple of the dlcs.

As for when most of the D&D games will be on sale en mass again...

... I'd guess 2 - 3 months. Sales have been pretty frequent this year so far (and may become more frequent in this evolving economy) but many of the D&D games -- although not all -- seem to go on sale every 2 - 3 months.

Put money aside. You know that money doesn’t disappear after a certain amount of time, therefore you don’t have to spend it straight away...

Not that I disagree, but the situation I reference could be one where they know the money they have currently isn't going to find itself earmarked for something of greater importance than game music at a discount now, as opposed to socking it away only to find that as they wait for what they want to return to a discount they are comfortable with paying the money may be put toward something more essential.

Not that the situation doesn't apply inversely either. They might need the money at some future point but will have parted with it in favor of game music DLC.

There is no rush to get them, but a bit of a tension between wanting some good music for work and not really wanting to spend an evitable 30–40 bucks in between discounts.

If I knew the next discount on them was far off, I'd probably feel more at ease about buying now and of course wouldn't like to wait indefinitely. On the other hand, if I knew they were temporarily in between discounts, I would feel more at ease waiting. Well, forty bucks ain't the end of the world, and artists need to eat, but still this feels a bit like a somewhat large luxury spend.

I think they are quite often on sale now. Probably best to assume summer sale there would be a large sale on them.

If money is tight and you need a sale for purchasing those games -- which I completely understand -- I wouldn't worry too much. With Beamdog's enhanced editions still relatively new, a general resurgence in D&D interest, and new paid dlc still releasing for Neverwinter Nights, I expect GOG sales on D&D games to stay pretty frequent for the near future. But, that does mean waiting a few months (again, from what I've seen lately my guess is around 3 mos... give or take a month or two) -- and depending on the sales -- possibly picking a couple at a time instead of all in one go.

IMHO I wouldn't worry too much.
You could try checking https://isthereanydeal.com/ price histories, insofar as the past is a guide to the future.
i belief i had the same once only to be offered the discount.. not sure anymore if this was GoG or Steam but i belief it was GoG... though i also remember this to be the next day after the discount ended.. or was it Steam...

anyway sales enough, i'm sure the games will go with the summer sale or somewhere between xmas and summer once more

I uploaded you the last backup I made (2019-10-14) from RWarehall spreadsheet
---> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RRVRuBoh0zpwluUedHkn8OJZOHXBOob5n68EmsJ9Qms
There are some sales listed from 2019, so you can see, when it was on sale that year.
PS: I wouldn't count on a "Back to school"-sale anytime soon! #covid19 ,-)

Maybe it doesn't disappear, but it gets devalued - so called inflation.
and with the FED/ECB/BoE/BoJ printing money like there is no tomorrow, it will get devalued extremely quickly.

Germany 1923 might be a good example on how this will/can turn out
