I've always wished there was a way to add funds to somebody else's GOG Wallet! ;) Or even a means to purchase a GOG code that would (1) offer a discount on a regularly-priced game and (2) only be redeemable by a specific account that was gifted said code. Maybe it's fun in theory but difficult to implement? Who knows?

No tangible solutions from me, sorry solseb!
Paysafe Card may have been a good way to buy online in the past but nowadays, they have different requirements by Country. For exemple, in Portugal, not only account with a verified phone number is required (temporary don't work) they ask to validate the identity.
It's checking who you are, all the details like paypal, although it is keeping it hidden.

I was able to buy a pin that is worth 5GBP and pass it to you, InkPanther, on PM. Please share your side of the experience.

While this option works, because of the future charges limits, and complexity, I will close it and look for alternatives to simply top up someone else's account here within the GOG. And I will find it ^
I'm happy to report that the experiment worked, and I haven't lost any limbs!

It was a relatively straightforward process. Go to GOG Wallet and choose how much funds you want to add/"buy". Then you're taken to the checkout page - funds are presented similarly to any other product. Select PaysafeCard payment method. When you hit pay, you're taken to a separate payment website where all you have to do is to enter the Pin (Paysafe Card funds are held in a form of Pin - a string of 16 digits). And that's all.

The only small speedbump is that you don't know exactly what the exchange rate is and their saldo checker website doesn't seem to work at the moment. >.>

Thank you Solseb for the givaway. :)

I think there is a better way... buy a 5$ game as a gift... you are welcome.

PS. The reason why is not easy to do cash is because they want to avoid money laundering.

Huh, it usually does work. But you're right, now it doesn't. But you can work around that. Enter a high value and see how much it says you have left to pay, the difference saying how much is on that code, then go back and enter that value.

Interesting. So the info on their site isn't even accurate.

Hmm. Create a virtual debit card in your banking app, transfer the amount you want to it, then share the details with the recipient? Doesn't work if payment requires in-app confirmation on your end.

thank you! I was a sheep and you were the scientist. I'm happy, too; you said it doesn't need any form of ID from your side; this brings the usefulness of the proposed service from 50 to 75%. I will still delete the account today....but.... it is convenient enough for the receiver to use it again in the future. ^

we drained them all right, he tried many times to find a value and I was only able to buy 5gbp, it has converted automatically, you have described it helpfully and it's changing in time and place too, overall it isn't that bad as it looks like and all the id is on the person that would like to pay in, big+ here

All the IDs are on the sender. The receiver enjoys a clean pin and doesn't need to register. best part

It works UK-PL. I hope it works everywhere else : )

Thank you for being local and experienced. What if one could top up and play on the same touchscreen device, ha! that would be a famous event '

You have invented it in parallel, it is as good as paysafe. Just ask a person to choose a game up to?€ or from the catalog, and simply send that person a code for the chosen game. Unless someone wants to top up someone else's account for any reason, it's possibly the best option for the giveaway. True. Thanks.

will pursue gift codes anyway : D

Nice stunt. I will try immediately..... you must be in a different bank : ) no option in my. What details does it pass to the receiver? If we are talking about the open top-up, I can simply use my card and name and confirm in the app or ask for bank details and transfer there. Or even better, log in to someone else GOG account(*family&friendship&sharing student room or so) and top up the wallet directly by the will and the request of the receiver.
My details or his, but we want to stay anonymous, living in different countries and on continents....

ariaspi: Didn't Paysafecard introduce the requirement to have an account on their site to use a code, a few years ago? I remember reading something like that, and so I stopped using their codes.
avatar
Cavalary: Maybe just in some countries. I just used one these days, first purchases made here in over four years, and it's fine without account. On the site it says 200 RON max for RO, Ice_Mage's link says 40 GBP for UK. But slashing the deadline to one month sure is rotten. Though here I did just what I explained above, used it all for wallet funds at once (and then found that I could pick games so they added up to that exact total so there'd have been no need for it anyway, but still).
That's good then. Thanks for the answer, I'll keep it in mind, if I need to go back using Paysafecard.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about in my first post.
