Wow, that's pretty awesome. You know it never even dawned on me to even suggest such a feature or that it was a problem the way it is now, but it makes total sense. I didn't know I wanted it until you said it, although subconsciously I probably did. LOL

Having said that, with all change comes "WTF" threads in the forums and also resistance to change so I'm totally bookmarking this thread and maybe assigning the URL to a paste function on one of my spare 20 mouse buttons. ;)

This will be interesting because I always wanted to know how many games I _truly_ own on GOG, not just purchased products but the individual games they contain. Having them all show up individually will be a nice way to find out, although what will happen to expansion packs?

Sounds like an unnecessary change to me. Most of those bundled games are small anyway.

Also, how is this going to be handled for games that use the same manual, such as Leisure Suit Larry Collection? Are we going to have a download link to the same manual for 5/6 different games?

Yeah, that has always been a strange anomaly IMHO, you have to know they're there and manually go install them from extras instead of the main installer installing all 3 games like almost every other game in the catalogue. :)

Some extras are already the same for the whole series.

Unfinished Business is a free download from somewhere online, I had it bookmarked somewhere but can't seem to find it. I've got it installed though, but it would be nice if GOG could just include that directly with the game.

Blue threads are those created by the GOG.com account, not by staff members. There are multiple examples of those non-blue staff threads around, though they are rare indeed.

I guess it's already happening. Mortal Kombat 1,2,3 took 3 places on the shelf. Yet Tomb Raider 1,2,3 still takes only one.

You can't make everyone happy but I'm a little surprised by the hate for this. I really don't mind especially in cases (like I joked about earlier with Commandos) where the two games are too damn big, and different, to be lumped together. On top of that, I worship Tomb Raider, but it's not like I need 1-3 on my pc at THE SAME TIME! :P

I would also like to mention this is a pretty minor thing to bitch about, but considering some of the stupid crap I moan about, I think I'll pass on this particular argument. :D

As far as I remember there will be also no new GOG Downloader, which means Galaxy will also do this job. In fact from gog point of view it makes sense to have only one library struture, and as it seems more logical for a client to install, update and manage each game on it's own it should be really no surprise that the usual library will also switch to single game downloads and management.

Edit: Just another idea, if GOG will do it smart they will have an autoroutine to create the downloadable installers from the game install files used for Galaxy. In that case they only need update one package and not multiple.

I would certainly have preferred this. It annoys me that Cognition is listed as a series of episodes. The option to at least download the whole set at once would be nice.

Probably makes sense to have a properties page on the game with a DLC option, similar to how Steam does it per-game.

In truth, the only true purpose of all this unbundling is to make it ever more difficult to notice that Fallout is gone.

Just go to howlongtobeat.com and look up all of your games, pick the games with the shortest solution times, then get cracking! Gotta keep up your ratio! :)

To that end it may succeed. Hell, once they do this, I don't know if I'll even notice a game disappearing until I go to download it.
