I think I noticed a few forum "regulars" posting in there, cheers. I was going to post my signature "extremist" view about wanting GOG to just go away and wanting only Steam to exist, etc., but this subreddit is meant for serious discussion.

I can't be bothered to read the whole thing, but it looks like it isn't just the cult of GOG and the Steam fanboys posting which is good.

Haha, "Ideally" GOG would remain and be good competition to better both services and hopefully both focus on ways to improve gaming and the development of gaming.
Thanks for sharing the link!
The guy mentions the launch of Galaxy as a positive thing... well... it's an opinion all right. :)

Thanks for the link, will peruse the answers.

Oh I agree, I get some weird adrenaline rush or something from posting outlandish "end of the world" views. :P

Unfortunately, with things like "DRM-free Armello", late patches, etc., I can't blame people for leaving GOG and just using Steam (or not trying GOG in the first place) if they don't care about DRM and installer files. Whoever really controls GOG's strategy (the "higher ups") may only notice once enough people have left and the $$$ dips.

tfishell: late patches
This is going to be remedied eventually once Galaxy is well up and running and most publishers are ready to use it to update their games without GOG's input.

That said, it's also going to wipe the notion that some people have that GOG curates it's patches, which is one of the few benefits that actually comes with getting your patches later than the opposition and having to do it (partly) manually. Though they could go for a dual approach and still do that for the non-Galaxy patches which I imagine are pretty much always going to be delayed to some extent compared to Galaxy's patches.
As long as they don't mention anything about any community GOG should come out ahead in that thread.

I know, it's just that I'm so proud of myself I'm not passing up an opportunity to mention it. :P
Some pretty ignorant people there about GOG. Not their fault, but claiming that regional pricing was removed, etc. And I still feel regional pricing is shit. It means that your product doesn't have a defined value to you.

Good for you! You should do that more often.

Wait a second. Did you fall off that wagon again recently? ;)

Alcohols wellbeing effect stays for maybe a day. It's aftereffects in your case stays for many days. I make it simple for myself. I make it not worth it.
