darthspudius: If you have to question if something is racist, it clearly is not THAT bad.

Elmofongo: Its times like this people need to accept that things like Boondocks and Cheppelle and the like are not equal to advocating genocide/dehumanization.

Just because I say nigga does not mean I genuinely hate or dehumanize black people.
Nigga or Nigger just shouldnt be said haha. People can say it if they want but if theyre going to complain when someone else does it, it just shouldnt be said. But that is me, doesnt happen often over here haha.

JudasIscariot: the South doesn't have too many mountains :)
I can (kinda, but not really as you have some south in your past) forgive you denying Kentucky, Virginia, and maybe even Tennessee or North Carolina a place in the "The South", but the Appalachians extend into South Carolina and Georgia... and even into Alabama. Also, there are the Ouachitas and Ozarks in Arkansas, extending into Oklahoma. Plus big stuff in West Texas. :)

EDIT: Might need to change my forum tag back to "mountain bum" after that one...
EDIT 2: And I would if you people would just vote Strike Fleet already! :)

I never had a chance to see those parts of the South and it is my bad, you are right :)

But if we're talking Florida, your original statement is absolutely correct. :)

EDIT: And for clarification and to seem a bit less of a know-it-all, I know jack shit about the Tatras. :)

North Carolina itself can be really mountain-y and hilly too. Maggie Valley, Cherokee, the Saluda Grade, etc. Going from South Carolina to say...Cherokee or even Maggie Valley requires you to go up and then down a mountain haha.

In fact, I just visited Cherokee a week or so ago, headed there later at night and headed back home around two in the morning I guess. I learned that trying to go back up the tight winding mountain roads and back down isn't as fun when there is heavy fog and you can't see ten feet in front of you and it wouldn't take much to go off the edge!

My brother lived in Lexington, KY the year I was road-tripping & county highpointing and I base-camped on his floor while making multiple forays into the 'hollers' of KY/VA/NC/TN. It's fascinating topography. Little valleys that may never see the 21st century. 3 hours to drive 50 miles. Yeah, I was wide-eyed. :)

The worst fog I've driven through was also in the eastern mountains: hit it on interstate in the Maryland panhandle just outside of West Virginia.
It's not racist. It's satire, and not particularly entertaining satire.

JudasIscariot: Uncle Ruckus is a caricature of the self-hating black man also known as an "Uncle Tom" in popular American culture.
What are you talking about? he is white, he just has a skin condition :P

my limited tv experience couldn't tell you haha

Smannesman: Pretty sure it's satire since it's made by a black guy.
Is it still going on?
I tried watching it but I found it to be 95% awful, which is admittedly only slightly more awful than I'm willing to watch.
Yeah I thought so too, maybe the satire is not obvious enough.
I respect what the show is going for but its too much Americana for me, I prefer to get my dose from other sources.

Well heres the setup for ya:

A black family moves next to a white one! How will they ever get along?

I swear I did not make that up. Made back in the 70's, it may still air on Aussie TV according to Jim Jeffries.

stg83: Haha....indeed, "The Chappelle Show" was another incredible sketch comedy show with sharp satire that made it stand out. Its a shame it only had three seasons.
Another great one, Key and Peele is finishing its run. I love that show.
It merely satire and really takes shots at everyone. From the US government (Jack Flowers), to white people acting like african american gangster stereotypes (Ed Wuncler III and Gin Rummy, who are voiced by Charlie Murphy and Samuel L. Jackson), black identity (Uncle Ruckus and Tom DuBois), gang violence in the african american community (n***a moment), racism in the US justice system (A date with the Booty Warrior), african american pop culture (BET = Black Evil Television, the numerous hip-hop artist, Winston Gerome, who is parody of Tyler Perry) and the list goes on.

stg83: Haha....probably one of my favorite sketches from the entire show along with "The Playa Haters Ball". ;)
Yeah, that episode was brilliant. Chappelle as a whole is pretty funny. "Black Bush" has to be one of my favourites.
