Assuming you are correct (I own this game, but have yet to play it due to not working in wine as of last time I tried it), the same is true for The Caligula Effect: Overdose (not that you care, for other reasons) and probably several others I've forgotten about. I think the publisher has a lot of say in what tags get set, and they want to spice up the perception of their game. They pu t a lot of work into making their battle animations entertaining, and don't want people rejecting the game as too boring without at least giving it a try. I'd also guess that's the main reason devs keep placing actual real-time elements in what would be perfectly fine turn-based games.

I wish gog would audit their tags a bit better. It's hard enough to tell what a game will be like from the marketing materials; having inaccurate tags just makes it worse. For example, I instantly reject strategy games with the "real-time" tag, and used to reject RPGs with the "Action" tag without looking at the full description. Sometimes I look again much later on, and discover things aren't what I thought they'd be. I gave up fighting for a reasonable roguelike tag thanks to games with tag combo gems like "Action Platformer Roguelike".

edit: Legrand Legacy does have the action wheel, but it's optional. You can turn it down (no random key) or off for "less experience". Not sure how much.

Anything Legend of Heroes series.

Maaaan I loved both franchises, just replayed BoFIII 2 months ago due to nostalgia, and I still remember how crazy awesome golden sun looked back in the day on the GBA; good times.

i have one, bought on steam, called tales of wuxia it is pretty recommendable though the developers build in all kinds of asia mania stuff which means you need to do stuff in a certain order on certain dates to get different endings .. there are manuals and guides though

BoF4 is probably the prettiest pixel art RPG out there. I have only watched vids though.
I really miss Golden Sun's special crits, I don't think I've seen anything like that in any other game.

This might just be me, but when I think JRPG it's only turn-based games that come to mind.

boF4 indeed had really the prettiest pixel art out there (I ended up prefering 3 due to how the dragon transformations were performed, but that's just my personal taste) and was gorgeous to watch.

As for golden sun crits, they were awesome, it's one of the few games in which I actually loved to see crits in game. XD

Also, well, JRPG in the past used to be for the most part turn based or at least it always seemed so to me (for example I thought about the seiken densetsu series as an JARPG rather than just JRPG, but that's maybe just me XD).

That's not definitely not a JRPG. It was made by Americans in the country of America.

And GOG definitely does not have "enough" JRPGs. It's missing tons & tons of them, which are available on DRM'ed platforms.

Which to my mind REALLY feels like a reskinned KotoR as it uses the same engine, same designers, same artists, etc. (Or was Kotor a reskinned JE?). Though Jade Empire has more features and is a little more fleshed out and polished than Kotor, and a bit longer of a game.

Though i failed to finish JE, after the arena fight i... just couldn't keep interested.
