The "how long it has been running" doesn't matter as Miura didn't release much since he was busy indulging in Idolmaster.

It's not a hard series to get into. Yes it's been running for ages, but if you read through all the volumes over a short period you'll notice that the pacing isn't slow at all, in fact you could even argue it's pretty fast paced. The people who complain about the "pacing" aren't talking about the story, they're talking about how often the series has been on hiatus, and that we only got a chapter a month. The series is only like 40 volumes currently.
