rjbuffchix: To begin with, I don't think the "digital preservation" aspect of DRM-free games is compatible with relying on servers to play the game once you bought it. And I would even go so far as to include private servers in that. To add on top of this a mandatory client or company server would just compound the problem.

The criteria of whether something is DRM doesn't depend on whether it's an especially obnoxious DRM that affects someone's hardware. Valve's Scheme client on its own seems relatively benign, no one that I see is majorly complaining about load times, etc...but you agree it is nonetheless DRM.

And please don't make false equivalences; the distinction here is that there is really nothing the dev/pub/GOG can do about hardware progressing whereas it is an active choice on the part of the dev/pub to gate multiplayer to online-only sign-ins. Join me in demanding better!
1. The SP portion would liokely still be intact, though, and likely someone with skill/knowledge could make some sort of mod/etc to add in public server MP(I don't know 100% for certain as i'm not into that scene). Also the devs might and sometimes do add in public server capability when private servers are closed.

2. DRM can be such even if it's more benign, I agree, but I don't think SOME things like MP accounts are DRM as one can make an account to play such & usually for free(as I said). If they made it pay only after you already bought the game then maybe i'd see it as being DRM more.

3. It(to me) is ok to use as an example, as in both cases one will lose access to their games.....one set is due to the march of time/progress/etc and one is not.

I do think better treatment of gamers is a good thing, though, and support such 100%.

(Also how is it a "gate" when anyone can open said "gate" by making an account? To me that's not a very effective "gate" then)

Nothing to add at the moment, just wanted to note that I enjoy our convos and have thrown a plus or two your way (unfortunately can't say the same for your group of "fans"...lol).

Not a problem, and I enjoy them as well even if we don't see 100$ eye to eye on everything.

(Aside: Some here, not my fans but some others, sadly think I must agree with them 100% on everything or i'm not worthy of them talking to me/not a "true friend".....can you believe that?)

(Offtopic: The downrating has gotten bad, and no matter how many times I ask staff to check into who is doing it and punish them they apparently have more time to punish people for saying naughty words and promoting galaxy 2.0/etc than checking into it. But I don't want to turn this thread into me whining about it....if you ever want to talk more about it my PM is always open. L8r for now.)
Any change on the "Party Hard 1+2" frontline with tinyBUILD?

Nothing happened about the missing DLCs until now, is tinyBUILD still working on that or have they reverted back to ignoring the problem? I do not have access to the reddit discussion, where the "tension" went high those months ago so I cannot check myself...
