It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I noticed that linking to the bottom post (the very last comment on a page) in a thread is broken for me. Instead of opening a new tab with the linked-to post shown and marked with that red arrow icon as usual, the page following the linked-to post is shown. Here is an example:

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/books_finished_in_2024/post122

Doesn't link to post 122 for me, opens the very next page instead. Maybe it's just on my end. I tried this both in Firefox (desktop) and DuckDuckGo browser on my phone, same result.

Could someone else test this please to see if it's perhaps an issue for everyone? Any workarounds you could think of? Thanks a bunch.

Uh, this is what i see (attached).

Are you using 10 posts per page?
Might be causing the screw up.
(im on 50)

Edit: end of page capture added for context

Edit2: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/books_finished_in_2024/post127 (final post as I see it in that capture)

I was on 20 posts per page. Switched to 50, but now on page 2 of that thread the bottom post is #102 and it's the same thing for me (opens the following page instead):

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/books_finished_in_2024/post102

Your Edit2 example above works for me as intended, but maybe because there is no following post/page yet. Thanks, this needs more investigating. Baffling.
Judging by the numbers, two posts were deleted from that thread, which makes this the usual issue GOG's forum always had, namely that the links are to pages, with posts just being anchors on the page, so when you link to a post, internally it links to the page it SHOULD be on, according to the post number and the posts per page setting, so if posts are deleted, you end up with posts that are no longer on the expected pages, like in that case, 122 should be on page 7 at 20 / page but is on 6, 102 should be on page 3 at 50 / page but is on 2.
Also, GOG has bad newpage handling no matter the circumstances; it tends to take a post or two in the buffer (especially if there's a staff post) to make it actually show up.

Thanks much for the in-depth explanation and your input. A bit frustrating that something as feature basic as linking to posts you can't rely on. At least I know now what's happening. You gotta learn to love the loose screws in the GOG forum I guess. Thanks again.
